It is said that Twice had trouble filling the KSPO dome, aka Gymnastics Arena (or simply Gymnastics), in K-O-R-E-A even though it filled the Sofi in Los Angeles.
Only the following people filled a 2 day concert of a FULL-size (EXO. Psy and the NCTs did half-size concerts) in the Olympic Stadium in the history of K-O-R-E-A.
Cho Yongpil 2010
H.O.T. 2018
BTS 2018, 2019
The above three did have contributions to KPop. However, the authorities in Seoul allowed the following person to achieve that rare feat
IU 2022
I have talked about IU's lack of contribution to KPop so many times that it would probably fill 2 thick volumes now.
When the singer who spent almost all of her life fighting the advance of KPop across the world popped out (the few moments she didn't spend fighting KPop were spent on, well, you know what.)
the onus to have a stadium size concert was thrown to all KPop acts.
Twice, BlackPink and Seventeen (which performed at Tokyo Dome last year) were able to shake that onus, but the 4th Gen acts are now stuck with the huge onus, plus any iteration of solos from BTS and other acts.
As long as they can't repeat the achievement of the nonKPopper, their astronomical album sales do get pale quite a bit. Lee Jieun already humiliated Stray Kids and Enhypen on last year's concert when both acts sold way north of 1 million.
As Billboard now discourages the digital sales done by the fans, album sales might become less of an indicator of the popularity of a KPop act; as long as the achievement of a singer who is still trying to undermine KPop as of today, despite of all the scandals she created, stands all KPop acts will feel the heavy onus of having to do a real 2 day stadium concert to prove that they are really popular, over the singer whose contribution to KPop is smaller than, say, the size of an atom.
