De-dollarization is a real thing. A massive shift towards a Multipolar world order is taking place.

  • The US have weaponized the dollar for far too long. Now it's all coming back to bite them in the ass.

it's not ones administrations loss like someone tweet there

it's just world opening eyes and being normal

also it's not like here in Europe we didn't pay in Euro or made deals in Euro even if one country ain't using it as own money

After WWII, the US Dollar was the most trustworthy currency in the world. Eveybody trusted and wanted the dollar, and it became accepted by all nations as the reserve currency of the world - as the British Pound was before it.

Today, the US government has become the least trustworthy institution in the world. Countries who have built functional economies are deciding there is no particular need to use the currency of (or buy debt from) a massively indebted nation that could easily decide to repudiate its obligations.

Every reserve currency fails over time. The US faces a lower standard of living if this disconnection continues to spread.

    I disagree

    it ain't Russia

    it ain't North Korea

    Turkey

    Somalia

    etc...

  • Apples and oranges. Those countries don't have any significant influence over international exchange.

The world knows Biden - like Obama before him - is a figurehead with no real power to set US policy. What they are wondering is: who does? And why are we using this secret oligarchy's currency to settle international trade?

Russia actually here in Europe had big impact on gas, oil, coal prices...

this is why few countries closest to Russia in terms of bordering it or relying on the resources from the east got really bad inflation and struggled to find new sources of those things...

I know what I'm talking about because I'm from Poland, there are always two sides of the coin

for example if Polish gov kept neutral stance our life would be easier

but then no one wants to get Russia on our doorsteps so it's obvious that they've needed to condemn invasion.

Hopefully tho mostly for Ukrainian people but also to other from Slavic countries that war will end soon...

So you think Trump had some power huh? don't think so, if US will keep having old presidents nothing will change there

  • Europe could have easily avoided dependence on Russian gas, but it chose Green virtue signaling over the nuclear power it desperately needed to stay independent. Trump warned the Germans in 2018 not to become so dependent on Russia - and they laughed at him. But at least they didn't make Greta cry...

Trump was a loose cannon and not fully under the contol of the oligarchy - that's why they staged a five-alarm media freakout to get rid of him. I wouldn't say Trump with his disloyal staff had any real power, either - other than a certain willingess to refuse to do as the oligarchy insisted.

  • Good for the world, bad for the US that won't be able to sustain the same living standards without USD being the reserve currency and the blunt of that QoL degradation will put on the poor & middle class who will see their purchasing power nosedive. Reckless foreign policy of the US that alienated everyone sans their vassal club is to blame.

  • This is all spin. There is no new world order forming. These countries don't want to trade using the US dollar anymore because they can't afford it. It's much easier for a place like India to use their own currency, which is worth less than the paper I use to wipe my butt.

Screw the US honestly after seeing their politicians I wonder how they actually maintain in power for so long

You can't screw the US, but you're welcome to try. I wouldn't be too hasty though. Maybe ask the Japanese how well their attempt went before you bite off more than you can chew.

  • I'm so happy about this! Finally! Go brics, go kenya! Finally! Hope the rest will follow!

Yes, I'm aware op is pro russian but these are marco rubio's words

  • This has nothing to do with the topic. but I'll add that regarding russia It depends on who you ask. That's european and american pov. Africa strongly disagrees with it and it's vocal about. Look at how many countries imposed sanctions on russia: only the collective west.
