Story:

Two young women around 20 years old want to move to Tokyo. One is called Nana Komatsu, she saved money to follow her boyfriend who moved to Tokyo a year before to study there. The other one is called Nana Ozaki and her dream is to hit it big as a rockstar in Tokyo.

Both meet eachother in the train for the first time and talk to eachother about why they want to move to Tokyo.

Later on when both were searching for apartments they randomly meet eachother again and dislike how they both want to have the same apartment but when they hear how expensive it is to live in Tokyo they decide to share the apartment since it got 2 bedrooms so they can save money.

Around that time when both were freshly moved in, Nana Komatsu tries to visit her boyfriend and thinks she wasn't doing good enough for him, till she sees him at work with a female coworker and belives he was betraying her with this girl and breaks up. On the other side Nana Ozaki casts members for a band of which one is a 13 year old boy who ran away from home and pretended to be at least 18 to be able to join the band. Nana Ozaki's band becomes famous very quickly and on an concert-event she randomly meets her ex. boyfriend again who plays in a band.

Nana Komatsu is a huge fan of this band so she asks Nana Ozaki to introduce the band to her, so oneday Nana Ozaki decides to ask the band of her ex. to visit them at home, but that was a big mistake that was about to ruin Nana Komatsu's life forever.

Nana Komatsu was allways a huge fan of the band that Nana Ozaki's ex. played in and so she specificly asked of she could meet her favourite member called Takumi, not knowing that he was a playlboy trying to mess with her.

After a short afair with Takumi Nana Komatsu started to fall for the guitarist of Nana Ozaki's band called Nobu and they begin dating.

Meanwhile the 13 year old member of Nana Ozaki's band called Shin begins to prostitute himself by getting payed for sex from the female vocalist of the band of Nana Ozaki's ex called Reira who is about 10 years older than him. And it begins to be very akward between both bands. Not only cause Shin and Reira try to keep it a secret and it also quit hurts Shin but also cause Nana Ozaki comes back with her ex. called Ren who isn't good for her.

Some weeks later Nana Komatsu finds out that she became pregnant and she was feeling very sad about the situation cause she knew it was hurting her curent boyfriend a lot. He who knew it must've been from Takumi got very mad since he knew how Takumi was just playing with girls and said "even if its not mine, I will take good care of Nana but Takumi will never be able to do that, he has no interests into building a family". However when Nana Komatsu confronted Takumi, he begun asking her to get married and forced her to move in with him. She was too shy to say her actual feelings and so she broke up with Nobu to move in with Takumi, but she got more and more draged away from her friends, which makes her sad. She also dosn't likes how Takumi tried to keep her away from everyone just so she wasn't ruining his image as a famous rockstar.

It breaks Nana Ozaki's heart to see Nana Komatsu like that since they begun to become close friends, but trying to reach out to her was almost impossible.

After that the anime seems to be missing some parts and people say there was actually missing a lot since the anime was apparently only half of what the manga was like.

But at the end it seems like that when Nana's child was a small kid she met up with all her old friends, Nana Ozaki and her band, and she seemd to be quit happy.

People hoped so much at the end that Nana Komatsu would leave Takumi in the anime and get back with Nobu, but it dosn't seems like it, especially not since 1) many parts of the manga are missing in the anime and 2) in the last scene the child of Nana Komatsu called Nobu "uncle" and Nana Komatsu said it was way too long since they saw the last time
