YG have a good track record, and they have a real knack for image building and hype and brand promotion, at least for their girl groups.

No idea what magic sorcery they're using, but their formula for appealing songs+strong group promotion+brand building of individual group members seems to work really well.

So yeah, their chances look good regardless. Then again, nobody saw BTS coming and the explosive rise of Bighit/HYBE. So who knows what surprises we might expect in this current gen.

Doubt that very freaking seriously, with New Jeans being the best rookie girl group sales wise since.. um, FOREVER and the entire Nation of South Korea being obsessed merely 6 months after their debut. Baby Monster will catch international fame of course due to the association of "Yg" and "Black Pink", but I don't see them becoming the lead 4th gen gg cause girl crush hasn't been popular to the Korean GP since 2NE1.

But the situation with 3rd gen back then and the now 4th gen are different tho?

Each of the front runner of 4th gen are made of not just from the big 3's.

Also hybe is still holding their iland gg so they might be not the last to debut, it might be hybe even using yg's tactic to debut last.

They had older ggs, then Snsd, shortly after it was fx and then Red Velvet. SM should be having 2 more new ggs.
