Like top idols from first two gens always worked in acting industry, variety because it made them more money and brought them More cfs.. There is no situation of suzy and friends anymore who relied on cfs because they can't tour.
Now from third gen acts started touring massively and merchandise is worth millions, they no more need acting to stay relevant. BTS, blackpink, seventeen, twice, nct. Only big groups though. Yes they can take gigs here and there but it is no more the most important thing for them
Fourth gen groups also doing same. Txt stray kids enhypen etc all can tour and sell lot. Newjeans getting paid already, I've and their countless cf deals, lssfirm going on tour this year. They all are set already.
Even though I wanna see BTS members in some roles, but they can make more money from tours, global deals, massive profit sharing on sales , merchandise etc.. No more idols can be looked down upon.
But yeah smaller idol agencies and their idols need it. Like Eunwoo is making millions as an actor. But top idols don't need it
