Interesting if true cause they got all their IP and their official platforms like Youtube etc, and joined a new label together as a group.
This is an amazing precedent for other groups to follow if they are dissatisfied with their label. And this is a better deal than GoT7 cause they got to sign with one label as a group.
Honestly gives me hope for future groups. They can leave the company with better deals

I think YG was understandably cautious with iKON. Most labels would have let them go or hide them until their contract ended.
YG at least gave an effort with them. They had 3 comebacks since B.I left. The pandemic obviously stopped a lot for labels.
They also went on Kingdom.
They also did some varieties and had a couple of reality shows.
So the effort was there, but I'd say the contract ending was beneficial for both sides.
I'm glad YG decided to give them their trademark. They didn't have to.
