It’s ironic that those who are “free speech absolutists” are the most easily triggered?

Changed the title of the thread from “It’s ironic that those who are “free speech absolutists” are the most easily triggered, don’t you think?” to “It’s ironic that those who are “free speech absolutists” are the most easily triggered?”. -

Omg it's been kinda hilarious watching Elon absolutely losing his shit and throwing tantrums everytime things don't go his way on twitter 😂 legit a toddler!

it's not just about "free speech" per se but rather just outright hypocrisy and if there aren't any consequences for that then they will continue to do it
and when I mean consequences I mean not just criticisms or "cancellation" but real tangible consequences like losing money, losing a job, losing reelection etc etc

I’m not woke
but a lot of people on the left tend to believe in free speech WITH consequences.
I.e. You’re free to say what you believe, but if it’s something that is morally reprehensible like racism, homophobia and bigoted remarks then you will have to live with the consequences of your action.
Whereas many on the right exhaust themselves over the right to free speech, and saying whatever they want etc but the minute they get countered on any of their stances, they act butthurt and will use their power to silence the counter opinion in any way they can.
The left aren’t the ones calling he right “snowflakes and weak minded” etc, so it’s hypocritical of the right to take such a stance when they are more likely to be more offended and close minded to opposing ideas.

But that's the whole point
You have greater influence on culture if you can limit the freedom of speech of your opposition
It's done in a very systematic intentional way

This thread was made just to point out the hypocrisy of some of the right, how they deem many on the left as snowflakes and libt*rds for behaving offended over certain actions and statements. Whereas the right are just as offended when their views and viewpoints are contended and therefore don’t get to sit on this high horse to view the left as weak minded and perpetually offended.

Not to mention, the first amendment has way more than just free speech.
And the fact that it's just addressing what government can do
