In India, there's a popular Kannada movie called Kantara. Plagiarism accusations have come up on a song in the movie as the song has similarities with a song by a Kerala band.
U may think the movie song is getting a lot of backlash, but it's the opposite, many are blindly defending Varaha Roopam, and bashing Thaikkudum Bridge for "preventing" people from "divine experience" as the song got removed temporarily from the movie + saying the band should be giving credits to Kantara creators for "making them famous" despite them being a pretty well-known band in Kerala.
And it's not just internet hate, the band is currently banned in Bengaluru(Karnataka state capital, state Kantara creators are from).
So I was wondering, how do you guys think this case would be if it was a mid-well known kpop group vs a popular korean movie/tv show, like squid game. Would the reactions be the same, or different?
