Are Kpop companies not promoting their Japanese groups internationally because of their nationalism?

  • I mean I can't find any other explanation. From the business point of view it makes no logical sense, why would you not promote a group you invest into in all markets to maximise the profit? I mean all the Korean groups get Japanese debut and content regardless of what their concept and target audience is. So why not have the same standards?

  • kpop group promote in jpn because the kr market for kpop is so small. the jpn market on the other hand is huge for idols and very self sufficient. i promise, niziu debuting in kr wouldn't benefit them in the way you think. they are actually one of the more accessible jpop groups to ifans.

  • If there is one Jpop group that I really want to see more in international arenas, it would be NiziU. Of all the Kpop inspired japanese groups, they feel very close to Kpop .

  • I think I was saying this to ves but everything has an opportunity cost

I'm sure if a company could they'd promote the artist everywhere around the world but all of that comes at a cost both in terms of money and time...

you can't just say lets promote in xyz country - there's language issues, freight, time commitments, money etc etc so many things that one must do in order to properly promote

and thus companies will prioritize those countries which have the greatest return for the lowest investment
