Because kpop stans don't understand that "good vocals" doesn't mean just one style of singing. By the standards of a classical singer every kpop vocalist is dogshit. This is a 15 year old narrative that was popularised by exols. Singing is not maths! We can prefer style, emotion and theatrics over classic r&b vocals that all sound interchangeably similar!

When the most successful ggs rn are Bp and Twice and Itzy, all of whom are not more vocally proficient than Hybe ggs, you’re being too obvious singling out only Hybe groups. Popular music acts in the whole world have historically never succeeded with talents only but with good catchy music and charisma. Vocal talents are a nice bonus but never a necessity. Why do you think Britney Spears was much more popular than Christina Aguilera despite not being as good a singer? Taylor Swift is the biggest female act rn and she’s not very vocally proficient at all. Why are you pretending it's a kpop thing? That's how things work everywhere.
People want good songs. In my country the most popular singer is avarage vocally wise; a country of 7m and she had concerts with 100k people, that's how popular she is. And she's not the only one who's popular and avarage vocally. People care about songs and charisma. When you pay for a concert ticket of pop artist you want to have a good time, you need a good perform to hype up a crowd (they always sings live tho, artists that dance too). If you want good vocals go to the opera or adele who stands in front of the mic the whole time. And that's not a drag, that's the way she does it. I have faves who does it too, it's a different type of performance.
Britney and Madona are one of the most popular pop performers in history. Michael Jackson too, his impeccable vocals would be useless if he didn't have great songs and stage presence.

Also, "sm artist are great vocalists, the best in kpop!"; who cares when they always lip sync. Their great vocals are useless when nobody hears them. There's no difference between bellow avarage, avarage and great vocalists if they all lip sync, they are all the same.
