Why are Hybe groups still popular without great vocals?

I mean Bts, NewJeans, Lsrfm,… succeed without having vocalists on the levels of Wendy, Taeyeon, Baekhyun…One can even say their vocals are below average too. Why Hybe still succeed despite lacking vocals?

its just you people who have believed in this narrative of bts having bad vocals. Their vocals are more than fine. tell me another group who would sing live with a hard ass choreography like run bts. and perform mic drop, run bts, run, save me, zero o clock, butterfly etc live back to back. first 2 songs have choreographies which could literally break bones and then ballads by vocal line where they were great.

and did you saw recent lsrf live performances. they were performing live while doing literally high kicks.

these groups always perform live and give more than 100% in their performances while literally being 10 years (in bts case) into their careers. They deserve every bit of their success more then anyone.

AND yes they dont need to have beyonce level vocals for being great at what they do.

You could say that about other popular groups too like Twice, BP, Itzy and SKZ. SM stans always brag about vocals but in the end I agree with YG stans back then, stage presence and music matters more. I personally prefer YG's and some of Hybe's music over SM's.

The songs matter most

I don’t know where the narrative of hybe groups came from but as someone who has been to seventeen and bts concerts. Their “live” vocals are fine. Same goes for BP, SKZ, EXO, etc.

I cannot attest to other kpop groups I have attended kcon or concert cause they don’t even sing live…

It's easier for the average fan to sing along to songs that don't require great vocals.

When the most successful ggs rn are Bp and Twice and Itzy, all of whom are not more vocally proficient than Hybe ggs, you’re being too obvious singling out only Hybe groups. Popular music acts in the whole world have historically never succeeded with talents only but with good catchy music and charisma. Vocal talents are a nice bonus but never a necessity. Why do you think Britney Spears was much more popular than Christina Aguilera despite not being as good a singer? Taylor Swift is the biggest female act rn and she’s not very vocally proficient at all. When will people stop asking dumb questions like WhY aRe ThEy PoPuLaR wItHoUt GrEaT vOcALs when that’s a completely brainless question istg

I've noticed in kpop most groups have one or the other, if they have amazing vocalists like EXO, their rappers aren't as good, whereas if their vocalists aren't that good like BTS, their rapline is amazing.

I can't think of many groups who have amazing rappers and amazing vocalists. One is usually weaker.

But it's all up to individual tastes anyway.

Only Liz and Rei are good at live singing while Yujin embarrassingly struggled during their encore even though she's been in the industry for 4 years. Mind you they didn't even dance

People find them beautiful or attractive. Though bts are talented even if Jungkook is not the strongest vocalist of all time. He delivers vocals while dancing hard choreo and you have other idols can just stand and still provide struggle vocals

Because a lot of people just don't care. They are looking at the members and the industry pushes visuals over vocals.

And why do SM acts insist on pursuing rap/hip hop, including rap in their songs without great rappers????Always putting out a cringe song and polluting the airwaves. Stick to the ballads! You see how this opinion of yours can work both ways? Especially in K-pop where it is an entire package of singing,rapping and dancing. No entire group is ace at every single one of these categories no matter how much people want to believe but they're popular regardless and that doesn't make them untalented.

DK from Seventeen could go toe to toe with any other main vocalist.

It’s not necessary in pop or Kpop and never has been.

This. I’d rather listen to decent/ a little above average singing than good singing with terrible cringe rapping in between and cringe lyrics/ english

BTS is pure charisma, stage presence and excellent songs. NJ songs are the top, aesthetic top and also they do have good vocalists (Hannis(?) Vocals are SO pretty) and LSF I'm not a fan of so
