SUMMARY REPORT
Securities companies are concerned that, in the absence of Big Bang, performance dependence on BLACKPINK is too high, and that there may be a performance gap if they do not renew their IP contracts.
Album sales in 3rd quarter were 2.78M copies. BP accounted for 92% of YG's album sales in the quarter. The initial sales of Treasure albums released in October recorded 400,000 copies, recording a negative growth compared to the previous album's 540,000 copies.
BLACKPINK's contribution to album sales is expected to be 61% this year, and music sales were driven by BLACKPINK and Bigbang. Both groups are set to renew their contracts next year, concerns are raised about a gap in their performance in the absence of these IPs (if none of those two Groupe renewed with YG).
There are not enough artists to contribute greatly to BLACKPINK's performance during BLACKPINK's inactive period. TREASURE's album growth has slowed recently, so expectations for BLACKPINK have risen.
