Weren't Starship involved in the rigging controversy during the Produce series?

  • That should already show how manipulative ALL these companies are.

A new report has been released regarding the indictment of eight people in the “Produce 101” series manipulation controversy. On December 6, Yonhap News reported that the eight individuals include PD (producing director) Ahn Joon Young, PD Lee, CP (chief producer) Kim Yong Bum, two Starship Entertainment executives Kim and Kim, former Woollim Entertainment employee Lee, and former 8D Creative employee Ryu. The eighth individual has not been revealed yet.

The police issued a search and seizure warrant on the offices of Starship Entertainment, Woollim Entertainment, and MBK Entertainment. Reportedly, per contract signed with CJ E&M, the entertainment agencies were paid ₩100,000 for every episode their talent appeared in. An anonymous trainee alleged only ₩1 million was given to their talent agencies for participating in a song, while each participant would only get a small percentage, and CJ E&M would keep additional profits if the song performed well. Some entertainment agencies who disagreed would request their talents to be eliminated at the last minute to withdraw them.

An anonymous trainee alleged that one trainee, under pressure from Starship Entertainment, was secretly informed about a mission in advance by one of the choreographers.

A fourth trainee claimed that many participants felt the show was biased towards trainees from Starship Entertainment. Staff members anonymously alleged that, for the final ranking results, only one off-site producer had counted the votes in a separate room and sent them the results via text message.

    Approved the thread.
  • Hybe literally bought a music show win stfu all these companies are manipulative

  • Well it's pretty well-known that Wonyoung was not the original first rank center, and Yujin's place had been slipping after the attitude controversy, but she got saved by the rigging, and landed in 5th rank.

Interesting that you had Woollim in there, since Chaewon was one of the most obvious rigged member as well, and now she's enjoying her time in a famed HYBE group while the victims are nugu.

Who do you think was the original first rank center?

Are u sure?? I heard Melon is one of Mubank's sponsor. What if Melon/Kakao gave LS that win, So people'll throw hate to them.

  • I thought it was well understood Yujin and Chaewon were potentially two rigged in members. The only other possibility was maybe Yuri

They had a powerhouse vocalist in Chowon (literally the best vocalist on the show) that they rigged out, so they needed to rig in a decent vocalist, so that was Chaewon or Yuri. Gaeun was less a specialist, but Yujin slots into her role nicely.

    how is that comparable lol

that LWY guy probably gives zero shits about music show wins but Produce changed these girls' lives. Everyone knows the Starship girls got a heavy push on that, they praised WY like she was the second coming of Bae Suzy despite being a subpar singer and dancer.

    What yujin attitude controversy!

Lol there's literally no proof that HYBE is involved in that. Music Bank could easily have done it just to snub Lim Young Woong. And besides that, the investigation isnt even done yet. Which is pathetic because police shouldnt take 6 months to do basic math

let me guess, you read it off a random tweet? mubank uses melon charts for digital points aka one of its sponsors, by that logic why don't we go a step further and say kakao did digital sajaegi for lsf so they can win mubank

  • Yep but apparently their fans don't care.

Amazing how big 3/4 groups get dragged for privilege (which they do have) but so do the trainees who won on produce shows from those agencies.

This is hilarious, kpop fans think somebody at Music Bank wake up and rigged lesserafim points with no benefits

  • The fact Sakura was true #1 and now she's sort of blah in LSF shows that the public chooses likeability over talent.
