Which is a more dominant company, SM in its peak years(2008-2011) or current Hybe?

HYBEsha is making more money. On the flip side, in terms of talent and influence, I think SM had a higher per capita of developed talent across groups.

I went with SM because their influence on the industry was undeniable and long lasting. There are idols around today specifically because of SM at its peak. There's really not much you could point at as being typical idol culture that SM didn't influence in some way.

While HYBE has BTS, I'd actually argue that BTS has HYBE. You put that group of 7 in a different company with the same ability to influence their music, and I suspect you'd get a similar result.
