Her solo flopped badly and her popularity bled a lot from her peak days. Just like these two snsd members. Seohyun never made music again and has a mid acting career and Yuri is only remembered as a snsd member. I'd argue her situation is even worse given rv are not the ngg like snsd was. Maybe she's even the next Luna who no one will remember and will be doing side jobs to make money but for now I'd say she's the next Yuri who stays at sm and only is remembered when people mention rv.

Approved the thread. -
Yuri has some big dramas for the past years, Innocent Defendant, Bossam: Steal the Fate, Good Job did good too, she was also one of the mentors in My Teenage Girl.
A lot of idols wish to have her career after 15 years lmao, she's not spoke as much in kpop because she's mostly an actress right now.
Same as Seohyun, i don't think you all know how many idols can even have career after 15 years old in industry but let me tell you that not a lot so which idols manage to have Yuri or Seohyun career are gonna be pretty happy.

Seohyun has been getting multiple acting roles in a year. She's done a movie for Netflix (love and leashes) and slated to do another movie and drama in the coming months/year.
Yuri had been getting steady acting with her breakout in Bossam getting 10% ratings on a nugu channel. She won best actress at Asian Artist Award fo it. She's currently been on In The Zone on Disney with Kwangsoo and Yoo Jaesuk, the show has at times been the number 1 or 2 most watched show on Disney in some Asian territories like Korea and Japan.
So yeah Seohyun and Yuri are flopping hard and forgotten about. If Seulgi ends up like them she would be extremely happy.

These are considered “big” dramas? I’m a kdrama fan and these are not considered big dramas lol please. You can hype up Yuri but don’t spread misinformation.

Wendy was supposed to be the next Luna according to Kpop fans but then she actually sold albums and they all stopped with this narrative . Red Velvet members solos actually prove that they have fans to sustain their solo career. Who cares if they don't chart well.
But the thing is… debut album sales will most of the time be higher. If you see the pattern in other groups that have released more than 1 album, most of them have decreased in album sales for their next subsequent comebacks. Seulgi should try focusing on acting if she wants to sustain a solo career because in terms of album sales I think she’ll stay stagnant. She has more casual fans than hardcore fans and in comparison to the other popular 3rd gen girls.

Seems incredibly important to do acting, variety, hosting etc. if you want a long career in entertainment. Very easy to be forgotten if you just release an album per year, especially if it doesn't chart well.
If you release music that doesn't hit the general public it will be hard to grow the fanbase at all and it inevitably decline over time until the company deems the solo career financially unviable.
Not saying this is Seulgi by any means, just a general observation. I think the RV members can have successful solo careers for many years no matter what. SNSD members have remained relevant for 15+ years though, this is quite legendary and not many can have that impact. I wouldn't consider being the next Yuri/Seohyun a bad outcome at all.
The hypothetical craziest (distant) future solo will probably be An Yujin. If that ever happens she'll have every single advantage a solo career (in Korea) could possibly have. I would be surprised if she doesn't start an acting career on the side within the next few years.
