  • didnt bighit themselves keep doing stuff behind the scenes making deals with the government to try to get bts exempt. making them perform for free concerts, being used to promote government officials, doing english collabs to try to win a grammy so they can have a chance. This and armies constant push for an answer from the government on their exemption. How can they ignore all of that

BTS performed once and left Busan and SK to dry for their expo bid by refusing the extension. (which won't even be announced until Nov 2023 when ALL members will be serving)

    In fact

The behind-the-scenes deal bs is the MINISTRY OF CULTURE doing its own government poll on its own WEBSITE that was again them using BTS for their soft power while dragging this out. The only thing BTS and BH waited for was the BTS law that brought back deferring enlistment to the original 2 years 2nd gen idols used to get but without doing anything. Now there are limitations to qualifying.

    because DUH

    BB

    2PM

    SUJU

    TVXQ

all deferred till the age of 30 and Jin stays vilified for doing the same. At least now no one after BTS will qualify to defer the extra 2 years before they are forced to waste their remaining 20s serving.

And on the other bs point about English collabs when they only had three with Nicki Minaj (sung primarily in Korean) Halsey (sung primarily in Korean) and Coldplay (their parts sung primarily in Korean) is such pure bs and you know it but you don't care. And they clearly are not sticking around as one unit for this coveted Grammy that they are desperately trying to win when at least 3 members would already be enlisted by that time.

And lastly, BTS have already stated from day one they will serve when it is their time to serve. Once in 2018 once this bs started by Jin and by Suga in his 2021 mixtape

Of course, BTS knows more about what happens in the industry they work in more than kpop fans who live 30000 miles away playing keyboard warriors.

I'm so sorry but how stupid you can be. What actually Bighit do behind the scene? The free concert is literally the goodbye concert before they announced their military service that even the government have no idea about. And what English collab? Dyna, Butter and Ptd are all their own songs with no collab while the other collabs are all in English-Korean with obviously little chance to win Grammys. And if so, nothing wrong with having collaboration with western acts or wanted to aim for Grammys. Other kpop groups did it too, they released eng songs and do collab with western artists yet I don't see anyone called their company shady for doing so. Other kpop group did send their songs to Grammy too if you don't know as your world revolves around Bts. Lastly, of course armys demand for an answer as the gov keep delaying this stuff for years. And guess who started this shit, the government themselves not fans. If this happen to other artists, their fans will do the same. So, shut up if you know nothing.

  • govt does not acknowledge the unkown idols

  • All this yapping and people trying to blame BTS for this nonsense. Well, 2 things, one, BTS will be back sooner then people realize, HYBE has a plan to eep their fans engaged, so all the antis drooling over the idea that their faves will become more popular or relevant? Nah, you will stay irrelevant. 2nd, the part where Korea will realize that sending these guys to the military when they are literally their biggest entertainment export, and also, exposing them to all this BS will certainly come back to haunt them.

Personally, I think BTS will come back and be as strong or even stronger, but kpop and Korea will suffer.

  • lmao if you think the government started talking about exemption because their fans were campaigning for it. yes, they were loud WITH THEIR MONEY, A LOT OF IT.

  • Of course Hybe lobbied and worked for the members to get out of exemption, its billions on the line for the company. Its obvious after that press conference fiasco a couple of months ago in usa where they flew out journalists for free from south korea, and the push and dozens of media articles about grammys, polls etc suddenly all coming out at the same time.

That said i actually think the members themselves never pushed for any of this and finally got enough and told hybe to shut it. They probably view the military service as a break from the insane celebrity life.

  • Don't treat bts like your regular kpop group. Do u think it'd be possible for your favs to perform at global stages if bts wasn't here? They deserved the exemption. No one knew about SK till bts represented them at global platform they're the biggest doft power a country can hope to have.
