Why do people think holding artists accountable professionally is same as bashing them for their personal lives?

I keep seeing people commenting "you shouldnt talk about this plagiarism issue, you might kill my fav."

Do you actually think holding them accountable for sth that is their profession and they make money out of it is same as bashing them for their wardrobe choices or dating life?

One is personal, the other is professional

ofc people should expect a degree of integrity from artists in their line of profession
