Groups are catching up on sales but are way behind in tour revenue compared with BTS. Why?

  • Seventeen’s sales are almost equal to BTS with latest album but their tour gross are like 20 times lower. Why is it not easy to catch up on tour compared to sales?

    Approved the thread.
  • albums can be inflated tours cannot be inflated

  • If BTS release an album with all the versions and gimmicks groups are doing rn, they would sell 7M or so...

  • Stadium capacities x Stadium prices = BIG MONEY per show

  • Stray Kids might be able to catch up in touring. I’m sure they can play stadiums in the U.S in the future.

Some people really don't realize how hard it is to sell out Stadiums... even big US acts find it harder to sell out stadiums and thus stick to arena tours.

yes skz are doing well but the jump to stadiums is massive.

  • All non bts groups seem to be doing similar tour wise. Arenas which are not sold out completely for all the stops.

  • BTS is playing venues that are almost 4 times the size of the other groups. The other groups are all playing smaller, comparably sized venues.

Plus the BTS total is counting the livestream concerts, which adds additional revenue with the large volume of paid viewers (between 500K-1.3m paid viewers).

    Just for perspective

BTS - 458,677 tickets sold over 11 shows at an average of 41,698 per show and an average ticket price of $163.82

In contrast, the average attendance for a SKZ show is about 12,000 with an average ticket price of $145.76. The average attendance for a Seventeen show is also about 12,000.

  • BTS played stadiums. Seventeen could play stadiums in some places, I don't know why they aren't. Ticketing for SEA was a bloodbath. There was a concert outside a concert at Manila because so many fans couldn't get tickets. Thing about Seventeen is that they are too cautious when it comes to stuff like this, they need to start making bolder moves.

  • And of course floppink isn't here, the arenas are still half empty after all :pepe-hehe:

BTS are doing their concert at venues that are way bigger, so obviously they're making more money. No other group can compare to their populary

i honestly think some kpop fans are using the two words interchangeably as if they’re abstract concepts with no real differences. it’s funny, annoying, and probably a little concerning.

  • BTS are beyond selling out stadiums now since they sold out Sofi and LV with only their fan club members. GP and non fan club ARMY didn’t even get a chance to try for tickets. BTS are a legacy touring act now. They can sell out stadium tours for years at least. They have a chance to be the highest grossing tour ever, if they leave HYBE. Kpop should be so glad that HYBE is keeping BTS from their potential so that they can call BTS flops and entertain the delusion that their faves now have a chance to beat BTS. HYBE is doing the dirty work for the kpop industry.

so delusional. HYBE would have BTS on a world stadium tour right now of not for the military issue.

Wait! What did I just read. Lmao

BTS are the elite at Hybe. you really think Hybe would mess with their biggest moneymaker.
