Why no one talk about the unnatural number that Newjeans is getting??

    They sold 500k on Gaon on their debut. Even though they are from hybe, but the number is still looking sus to me. They are still rookie without a strong fandom so they sholdn't be pulling this number.

    Do I even need to say why this is sus?? Even with hybe + minheejin, They are still rookie group so they shouldn't pull this number. They have 3 song in the top 10 which is very sus.

    Their charting in Spotify look sus to me. However, what make this sus is how their monthly listener don't match their global chart. They have 9M listener, but can't even pull out bigger number than IVE who have 1M less listener than them. Also, both Attention and Hype Boy can't even chart on Apple Music Global despite they have bigger number than Eleven in Spotify. Eleven chart on Global Apple for 57 days.

    We know hybe is greedy and definitely have money to pull this off so what do you think?

    1. Their album had many versions and the bag did go viral in SK so that's where alot of the sales come from


    2. They were trending in SK 2 weeks before the song came out on Korean platforms


    3. Their songs are global. They were pulling 1.1m daily streams for each song on Spotify Global even before Attention was on on TTH and Hype Boy is still out streaming.


    Also Apple music is huge in Japan, that's the main reason IVE songs chart high on AM global.

    For example the Japanese artist ADO's 3 month old song is still top 10 AM global but the song is not even charting in spotify global.

    Basically that's not the best metric to use for global charting.


    Newjeans songs are semi-viral in SEA regions that's where most of their streams are from on Spotify besides SK.


    4. Obviously their company is a big part, no one is denying that. Just insinuating there's fraud behind it is complete BS.


    They just came out the right time with music it's not something to stress yourself over lol their success makes complete sense.

    People just like Newjeans and IVE songs more now it's not that deep.

    Though these groups are not even a year old, things can change next year.


    But Aespa did NOT flop this year lol they now have the highest selling album by a 4th gen group and also accumulated the most digital points in SK for 4th gen groups this year.


    Looking at the overall numbers Aespa are still #1 for 4th gen, why even bring them up if you didn't even bother to do the research.

    Newjeans are barely in the top 60 in Japan AM. That's not high enough to boost them.


    Harry styles charts high on AM US which is the biggest contribution to AM global.


    Also, yes Ado's song is from one pieces but it's only charting on AM Japan peaking #1 there. That position alone is carrying it #10 on AM global.

    Overall, It's normal for a song to chart on Spotify global but not on global AM and vice versa.

    It's not suspicious and I think allkpop users should understand this before throwing allegations.
