Reminder: Popularity =/= Quality

Meh. Something is popular for a reason. Such a weird complex I always see in indie fans.

Not popular =/= Quality...

Another reminder that those same good songs would be likely be more criticised (and praised?) than it currently does if it was released by a more popular and scrutinised artist
People love to go against the grain
I'm pretty sure everyone has both popular and unpopular songs that they enjoy
Isnt it a relative term?
And also, lack of popularity of a song does not equal quality
It can co-exist (and often does), and you can also have neither

It's popular because it appeals to a wider audience, doesn't mean that what doesn't it's bad just because it appeals to a smaller amount.

could be different reasons
sometimes it just has better marketing

Popular songs are more criticized in the same sense that popular things get more hate. More people tend to be aware of it and so it gets more judgement or criticism. It’s rare for a very popular song to be loved by all. Most of the time popular songs aren’t very experimental, just easy on the ears and easy to jam to.

Meh. Market as much as you want but if the product is unsatisfactory I have the freedom to discard it.

I never said that? I simply think the mindset of indie stans who hate on something popular just because it is popular is corny. I used to be in rock fans community and this behavior was so rampant there.
