Not everyone in a group has the potential/desire to go solo and that’s not a mistreatment or favoritism

I’m reminded how we complained about how long the solo took only for Jongin to point out that he wasn’t really satisfied and wanted it to be perfect, which is why it took so long and then when we saw it and how involved he was, it was like oh..

Or how people were up in arms that Haechan didn’t have a solo in the Neo City tour only for Haechan to jump up and say he didn’t have one because he didn’t want one and didn’t think he had the time or skill to prepare one at that point and was actually quite happy to be on a duet with Taeil. Similarly when people were crying about his lack of acting roles, he said he had no interest in acting and only wanted to be a musician.

Similarly, people don’t really consider that artists may not do a specific type of promo not because the company doesn’t like them but because they don’t want to. They don’t want to be up at 2 am in the morning to perform, making awkward small talk with a hyper 19 year old and pretending to act excited about other groups they don’t care about when they are a 30 year old star. Or even more simply, that they are shy or soft spoken and have let their group mates do the talking and don’t even want to do that stuff at all beyond making music and performing.
