    It’s shocking how quiet Mys have become after hkw loud and obnoxious they were prior to girls. I think it’s safe to say their album sales will decline and they have already peaked

    Yeah, this album was pretty wack. However, aespa is still a group with strong potential.

    Their next album is *as they hinted* a full album. Watch them sell 2M

    They gained much more fans this comeback. they sold 1.6million which is way more than twice and blackpink!

    Physical album sales don't equal worldwide popularity. Especially when many parts of the world don't even buy albums anymore (streaming exists, too). Congrats on having a fandom that buys albums tho.


    SM doesn't know what direction to go in with this group and it shows. Did they really think that Life's Too Short and Girls were going to go viral? Neither song would've done ANY numbers if it was released by a non-big 3 group.


    Still want to know who in SM thought Girls was a better comeback song than anything else on the album.

    They’re not doing as well as Next Level or Savage but they’re still doing great and I doubt they’ve “lost” fans. This era was just handled weirdly by SM’s management, but they still have 2 songs charting in the top 20 of Melon, solid streaming, etc.

    Isn't Girls top 10 in korea and they are charting a b-side too? also don't they have the best selling gg album currently?

    Even if they sell better it is very clear they are not the next "big thing" SM wants them to be. They are too lacking in the metrics that matter most.

    It only became more apparent with this comeback, but to everyone visiting AKP on a regular basis it should've been obvious that there were a lot fewer MYs active since many months now, maybe even as long ago as late last year.


    Purely talking about main here, anon shouldn't be trusted for anything. My guess is that a number of them were multistans that started to ult other girl groups as soon as newer groups like IVE, LSF etc started to debut. And some other MYs mentioned that they got fed up with the nonstop barrage of fanwars and Aespa hate bashes and they went elsewhere or inactive.

    Additionally, saying they lost so many fans is weird when the main metric for fanbase size, album sales, shows that Aespa had a huge increase in sales in lots of countries and even broke the #1 record for gg sales.


    People should stop the toxic wishful thinking, harbouring ongoing hatred for something as silly as k-pop groups is unhealthy.

    I don't know if they lost fans, but they aren't really gaining many new ones. Seems other then MYs no ones really interested.


    Sales wise if you take out their china sales they are Itzy level at best. Their streaming numbers are just embarrassing so lets not mention them lol.


    SM tried so hard to fool people into thinking these girls would take the world by storm and yet nothing. Surely by now SM realizes his master plan for the next bp is a no go, when they can't even dominate 4th gen lol.


    These girls just don't have star quality. The hype for them is nonexistent, they are boring and bland to watch, terrible stage presence, uninteresting personalities and a cringe concept, no wonder they aren't blowing up.

    As for the rest:

    even without China, Aespa's sales are better than TWICE's and Itzy's last sales

    to you the girls may have no star quality, that doesnt take away from the fact that Karina and Winter rank frequently high in the top segment of popularity, search and trending lists

    Aespa's 2021 title tracks have as good if not better streams than other groups' 2021 title tracks like Twice and Itzy, and Girls and Illusion have better streams than Sneakers

    just look at hos spiteful some posters here about Aespa? that's exactly why fans are leaving the forum. it doesn't necessarily mean they are leaving the fandom though.
