Why do many fandoms dislike SM?

    Not an SM stan btw. Just an observation. Whether it’d be blinks, armies, onces, vips, etc…

    Because it's easy to blame everything on sm stans. It's an excuse.

    SM vocalists having a very clear edge over most other kpop vocalists and their fans being proud of it hurt many people's feelings.


    many stans of SM groups are arrogant and insufferable, but the same can be said about pretty much every big fandom. people just used that arrogance and superiority complex as an excuse.

    every big fandom get hate. I think Armys and Blinks have more haters than all SM stans combined but they don't act like crybabies here because they're used to it.

    Sm Stans are insufferable fans they use vocals technique to come for other groups because they have nothing else but what are the gonna do with that if a lot of times they don’t sing live

    Sm stans attack every other groups vocals unprovoked even when vocals aren't the topic. Every bop or flop thread where they comment always has that ew their vocals suck ass comment like they're the true vocal prowess coaches.


    And it would be fine if their comments went along the lines of these vocals aren't the type I like so not for me. But NOPE they come in guns ablazing saying shit like these vocals are ass I can't listen to this or get through a single minute of the song! Like gurl you ain't a vocal coach sit down.

    It will always come down to fanwars. Sm Stans have fought uselessly with enough fandoms themselves constantly putting down popular top groups because they don't think the groups are talented enough to hold that position.(mostly because of bitterness lol)

    Now you can say that they were only being toxic because fans of these groups were being toxic and i would say yeahh welcome to kpop. :-)

    maybe if they tone down the god complex they have and thinking everything that comes from sm is superior. And also they need to stop acting like their groups are the most talented just because they are the company known for vocals.

    akp is a cesspool of the bad side of sm stans. sm stans are actually nicer elsewhere (in reality or in other forums)

    I think it's like people who hate the preppy kids who went to Harvard. SM is seen as the old guard symbol of privilege in the kpop world hence why they hate them. While hybe/BTS are the underdogs who came up... hence they are the "heroes of the story"......


    Thing is HYBE is now a conglomerate who are just as big and evil as any other major company so this narrative should not still hold up for groups like enhypen/new jeans/TXT. Yet here we are....

    Some people like to use the word "talent" to drag the non-SM group

    Never in my life have I seen txt or enhypen stans denying their privilige. Sm stans on the other hand ?(

    That superiority complex about their music is so fucckin annoying and arrogant, like music is subjective, if to you the bought music sm puts out is so artistic and good, okay, but don't put that shit as if it was the objective opinion to have about it.

    Tall poppy syndrome. They've been so successful for so long and almost always amongst the top groups. There's alot of bitter and jealous people who hate to see others being successful. They'll use any reason to try and drag them down.

    SM is the biggest and most influential company in korea hence other company Stans r just jealous
