When you're in a book store...

  • ... do you look inside the books?

I most of the times don't.

Because it feels a bit illegal for me.

I might look inside at the flaps or something, if I only see critical praises on the back, if I want to know what the book is about.

Like no, I don't care about New York Times calling the book "a brilliant masterpiece" or Stephanie Meyer calling it "Amazing book with a good love story", I want to know what the book is about and why it is titled "The Boat of Darkness and Colours" and has a black and white picture of a boat on the cover. (this was a silly made up example lol)

Well... I guess it would be wrong to read an entire book in a book store.

In a library though, unless I work there, I might be more likely to look inside a book.

  • I have been known to especially if it has pictures in the middle like a biography or something but I usually intend on buying the book anyway so it doesn't matter.

  • i have a book addiction so i am often at the bookstore throwing money that i don't have. for books i don't really look inside them because i don't see why i would yk? i see a pretty cover or an interesting title and read the back. oh you know what, if i see that some pages are black i will open it and look at whats happening because i'm not a fan of pictures in books

as for manga tho, i absolutely look inside to look at drawing style (im picky) and if it looks like something i'd read (i'm not a fan of nudity or insanely inappropriate body images)
