RE : JYP managed to keep both Lia/Hyunjin despite scandals. What did they do right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Hyunjin didn't have anything printed on his school record. And JYP didn't beat around the bush with the accusation, they arranged a meeting with Hyunjin and the victims to discuss and apologized immediately and went into hiatus to reflect. That was an appropriate way to deal with such issue.
Hybe acted too cocky, thinking that everything would die down eventually after dropping vague statements. Guess not.

Pretty much. The school and teachers as well as other students pointed out how toxic the class was, and how all the cliques in it were at edge with one another. That ppl claiming he was this sole tyrant bully wasn't the case at all, because the same behavior he gave others was reciprocated back. In JYP's official statement they verified this by saying everyone's stories were clashing with one another. Regardless, he met with every single person who called him out and apologized for his toxic behavior in the past, even if it may have been the environment of that classroom. And they forgave him and wished him well.
Then his hiatus and some community service followed afterwards.Hybe should take a lesson on handling these kind of scandal

Those affected found closure at least, but unfortunately Hyunjin will be blasted for this every time another bullying scandal surfaces. It's really hard for people to comprehend that each case differs.

I didn’t follow the other cases very closely but they seemed to do the common sense PR approach: tuck the idol out of sight, investigate, apologies.
Half of handling the situation is quietly letting it blow over and time to simmer down. People will move onto the next thing eventually so by the time the company rolls out with a statement, apology, whatever, public sentiment is milder.
By still having her out and doing things, Hybe fanned the flames. (I know Hybe stans will blame Source Music but Hybe is the parent company that writes the checks and should have handled it.)
