Why was aespa at the UN?

  • UN invites influencers, YouTubers and anyone with fans to make speeches all the time in order to reach out more audience. The fact Kpop fans are talking about UN and its topics right now because of aespa means it’s working even if aespa isn’t the most popular group. If UN only limited their invitations they will end up with the same audience and it = less reach.

Now what aespa speech was about and its relevancy to the discussed topic is explained below:

(personally I don’t really believe in or fully understand all of the new sustainability ideas considering the wastage in kpop but what the hell do I know… it’s still better than not doing it, I guess).

And obviously it’s SM’s doing to accept the UN invitation or even suggest it. aespa came in as aespa the brand and its relation to metaverse ie SM’s ideas.

  • I mean if kpop fans are going to have a go at Aespa specifically then what is the point of the UN of all things hiring any idols in general to speak to the world about strong issues, UN should better spend their time and resources trying to do it’s original job of keeping peace and cooperation …..which it has been failing at miserably for decades but hey the world is as is. It’s a bit hypocritical to attack one group and give passes for others.

  • OK. Interesting. It seems there have been action, not just talk? Also, found this.

Changed the title of the thread from “Why was aespa at UN?” to “Why was aespa at the UN?”.
  • Lets be honest here, none of the celebrities let alone kpop idols that spoke about sustainability at UN live in a mountain cave growing veggies drinking spring water... They all live in big mansion and drive big cars... Even all our government who is lecturing us to save electricity, use less plastic, drive less and save water are all happily approving big corporate company that is harming the most of our environment...
