I don't think visual is a problem for either groups u mentioned tbh. At least for me. Dreamcatcher has good enough visuals and so does billlie. Dreamcatcher music is very niche kinda stuff. People who enjoy it enjoy it alot. Haven't heard billlie to make a comment on their music
Also some groups have good visuals and still don't blow up because company can't media play and stuff
Agree about charisma. Very important to have the it factor
There's a ton of my faves who still seem "nugu" who definitely don't lack visuals. I think it has to do with companies and lack of proper promotion. Half the groups I stan I found through various ways like k-stages etc, and a ton of people who have no idea who they are, word of mouth can only go so far but it's up to the companies to try harder to get them noticed more. Plus BG's doing military always takes them off the radar for a bit, hopefully the groups i'm waiting on to do something make an impact when all the members are back.

how about the reverse...as in is there a (generally accepted) top tier GG (since I'm assuming the OP in anons is talking about female groups) that did not contain (generally accepted aka korean beauty standard) visual?

Mamamoo don't have your typical korean beauty and they were successful for a nugu company group. But they had the charisma and stood out from the other girls

I'd say they were #4 for 3rd gen in gg rankings. So not top but nothing bad. Most of the other ggs wish. The problem is the other ggs don't stand out in anyway or just have no charisma. One thing that can overcome visuals
