jennie looks lost in thought half the time and jisoo just looks awkward unless shes singing or the camera pans to her and it just looks like an average kpop performance?

  • C’mon give credit where credit is due. They are great compared to other rookie girl groups during that time. Tbh coachella was their peak. They were AMAZING there! The combination of their energy, their interaction with the audience, their vibe, their visuals and their outfits! YG acts in general thrive more in a festival/concert kind of environment in comparison to just going on music shows, which is why they do a lot of touring.

  • They are genuinely good, no one saying the best ever but think for a second why almost all their award show performance go viral.

The numbers they pull are ridiculous, it's because they often seem to be enjoying themselves and hype the crowd up

    their visuals too

  • I think bp is either too good on stage or too bad there is no in between.

their debut year was good then it went downhills. It was sad to watch post AIIL stages because I loved Jennie's outfits, especially that suit+shorts+long boots outfit but she looked like she was practicing and not performing. No one there except Lisa enjoys the stage anymore post 2017

Jennie especially didn't gaf but her injury suddenly healed for Coachella. They did great on Coachella, it's true. Which is sad and funny how they suddenly gained energy and interest when it was time to perform in front of those they want to impress - western people. Expressions, energy, everything was on point. Jennie looked the happiest she's ever been and I'm not even talking about 2018 hate train. She lost her spark before that. But after coachella sore expression on Jennie's face came back and it felt like she's just there to do her job.

The same goes for aespa. They actually want to try and even sang live for the first time and were energetic in Coachella, just like their previous senior group, but all of that is nowhere to be found when it's to perform in Korea. I'll give Winter credit though. That girl is always consistent in giving nothing wherever she is.

But Koreans and others have themselves to blame too when they accept mediocrity as the best because the West won't sugarcoat it if they lipsync or give half ass stages.

People already dragged bp for their GMA? Or some other american morning show ddd performance with no korean camera men to cover up for them and how weird their live looked, so yeah.

To op, it's 50-50. They are not amazing once in a lifte time performers, but the amount of girl groups with good stage presence is so low, bp look the best compared to them.

  • Their rookie stage is s-tier only them and itzy gave like that as a rookie

I agree that it got weaker over the years but still they hold their place down

  • You purposefully chose their debut stages and even their so-called lack of stage presence is something special. No other gg comes close

  • yall just saying anything at this point.

anyways, their concert performances are where it’s at. been to one myself and it was life-changing.

  • I like BP for the music but if their concerts were coinciding with a twice concert, I’m totally going to twice

(Btw I’m not a fan of either groups)

Nice try to drag Twice in the discussion

I prefer live singing in concert so BP

  • blackpink broke the cute girl dance culture, with a lot of SHIFTING POSITIONs during the dance. Of course is a gg dance, but they made a trend all gg do today. Twice was pushed to change to more difficult choreos because of blackpink. Now Twice do very complicated dances in comparison - and they are better dancers than BP.

and to clarify, is Lisa who is talked about having great stage presence, not all BP. But Jennie, yes sometimes is off, but when she is on, her presence is on fire.

Blackpink is okay in touring tho, that doesn't mean they excel in stage presence in touring. Most of the time they are inconsistent and it's more apparent with them since there are only 4 members in a group.

  • I was a non believer until their Coachella performance that blew me away. Coachella is still their best ever performance but you can still see that compared to a lot of other groups, they know how to manage and stage and hype their audience. Even as I write this, I can still hear Jennie shouting "Blackpink!" And the base dropping and live band going off.
