Kmedia reports BTS will be holding a global Busan concert as part of Busan’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo. On the 24th, Bang Sihyuk and Park Jiwon signed a MOU with the Busan City govt. BTS are expected to provide full support including guiding the BIE Secretariat team +

Mayor Park said, "I would like to express my deep gratitude to all BTS members and Hive for willingly accepting the Busan Expo 2030 ambassador," said Mayor Park!!!

Brief timeline:

- early 2023: site visit by the BIE Secretariat (BTS is expected to give the tour)

- Nov 2023: voting at the BIE General Assembly (BTS is expected to relay a message)

- sometime in the future, BTS will have a global concert in Busan to help attract the bid

From what I am understanding the concert will be next year

BTS have agreed to lend their support - and *considerable* ability to get global attention - to S Korea’s campaign to host 2030 Expo. There are other candidate cities, and no one knows where it’ll be. But BTS’ agreement just made Busan the most high profile candidate
