Beauty is Beauty regardless. A visual simply fits the Korean beauty standards the most.
Idols get ps to be more marketable and conventionally attractive. I see nothing wrong with it!
There is no "morality" to beauty. why would natural beauty be better than ps? it's a strange concept.
I prefer natural beauty personally, but I don't see anything wrong with PS. I know a good bit of my faves have gotten a thing or two done, and doesn't bother me. But, if I had to choose, I would choose natural over PS. That wasn't the question at hand but a response to the OP.
I also think the anon question is a little like the chicken and the egg. I think the concept of a visual in the group was around before the commonality of PS. So, people got PS to fit the term visual.
Visual just means to be the most beautiful in the eyes of the public, but there is no pre-requisite that states it has to be 100% natural.
the whole point of a visual position seems to be what the korean public likes to look at. pretty sure being born with it isn't a requirement.
