gay people come

  • When I say someone mention asexuality, and since I didn’t know what it was, I looked it up. I then got extremely confused because I thought everyone was like that and that sexual attraction was just made up. Needless to say, turns out most people have it, I just don’t. It was kind of hard to deny being an asexual after that.

Oh this was with me too.

I'd never even heard about asexuality before but I always found the idea of being sexually attracted to someone weird so then I heard someone talking about it, did some research and figured out I was asexual. It was really hard for me to figure out if I was ace or aro or both because I'd never really thought about being romantically interested in someone but it's only recently that I realised I'm not opposed to the idea of relationships with any gender. But yeah, that was it I guess lol. I also recall getting really jealous when my friendship group in primary expanded because my best friend was sharing her attention with other people (even though I was close friends with these exact same people lol). It was only in secondary school when I realised I had a tiny crush on her and that was probably why I was jealous :pepe-peek:

Same! I found it weird too, and I still don’t get the hype over it. Why think about that when you could be eating garlic bread instead? Or cake? Or doing literally anything else?

I’m not aromantic, but I know what it is and I can respect it. If anything though, I’m a hopeless romantic and want to date/get married. Your story sounds funny though.

I have a kind of similar, yet different one. In high school, everyone was talking about crushes non-stop, as many hormonal teenagers do. I thought all crushes had to be sexual, and because of that, I never had one, so I thought it was weird everyone else had one. I didn’t know romantic crushes existed. Sometimes I’d talk about one of my guy friends and my mom would suspect I had a crush on them, even though I didn’t, and still thinking all crushes had to be sexual, I’d always be like: “NO!”. Even in hindsight, I didn’t even have any romantic crushes then either, so I guess I had the last laugh.

  • I know for most people there's a specific moment when it clicks, but it's been so long for me... I think though in middle school is when I started getting acquainted with LGBTQ+ identities. And that's when I started experiencing crushes as well. I think after learning about it, it made me wonder if I fell into an identity. I found women attractive and did get crushes on them much like men, so I think eventually it clicked to me that I was bi and I accepted it.

  • I'm speaking on behalf of a daughter who is gay. She came out to me about 5 years ago. I was shocked at first but now I have learned to accept it and support her with it. At least I never had her come home and say "mum I'm pregnant" which is a good thing. I support the LGBT community.
