RE: armys who argued the english singles are in line with bts' identity

  • nah cause this thread…how are y’all going to take a 1 hr long video, a video where they talk about how they’re burnt out and them being vulnerable. and start twisting their words?

y’all using their words as a free pass to shit on their english singles shows y’all just want a “i told you so!” moment and satisfy your army hate boner. (or to prove how armys are company stans)

and where are these so called armys who said that anyways (referring to the title of the anon)

  • i still don't even know what's happening with the translations and hiatus news and it not being bts?

like im so confused. and im not even surprised if they felt like they lost their identity for a moment because bts was about keeping their korean while, right? or at least that's what i remember from when i used to keep up with bts (i fell out of the loop with them after black swan mv was released)

no hate towards bts, for the record. i just don't really understand what's going on and would appreciate clarification.

The way I understand it, especially after watching the dinner a second time just now, is this: It's about the intense schedule pressure. They aren’t taking a hiatus from being BTS, but from the expectations that come with being BTS because those have become unsustainable for them as individuals and as a band and taking a hard toll on them. Listen to what they are saying at the dinner. They feel burnt out creatively, they feel exhausted but too guilty to even express that, they are trying to figure out who they are as individuals and as a band, and the schedule that is expected of them doesn’t allow for them to process these things. And they have expressed feelings along these lines for a long time. With less schedule pressure, they can grow and heal and learn and create and do whatever they want for the first time. And then come back refreshed for the next leg. They made that so clear! I really don’t think there’s any reason to doubt their own direct words to us. And hopefully when they get back to group music, it will be even better than american-pandering bullshit.

they need to rest and recover

oh yeah, i guess that makes sense. sort of like what they did after they finished LY era ended, right? they took a break for a month for some privacy, but also this will be longer so a little different since its to focus on solo activities.

The issues with translations have arisen because people are taking a few sentences here and there to spin narratives about how they are disbanding, or no longer feel like a group, or no longer feel the meaning in music, are losing identity etc etc and the trolls that have had it out for them are gleefully pointing the fingers saying, "SEE? I was right all along!!!" But they're once again just taking their words out of context and twisting them for some misguided gotcha moment. It's annoying.

Is it a hiatus? Yes and no. Yes, in the traditional sense that just means a temporary break. No in the sense that the likes of 1D and SM have used it in the recent past so much that for music groups, it has seemingly come to mean "the most annoying way to say 'we're disbanding' without coming right out with it" And this is why Jk, Tae and RM have all felt the need to address the situation - because the spins on it are getting out of control.

ohh. i get why that's frustrating. saying you want to focus on solo careers for a bit is waaay different than disbanding. as for SM, you could technically say they're doing something similar with exo atm, no? aside from the fact that they're still getting group comebacks, they're still focusing on members' solo work.

There was not an exact group I was referring to - it's more the notion that companies like SM and others in this industry have cultivated around the usage of the word. The distortion is that hiatus now means "we don't really want to tell you what's happening, but it's indefinite and probably really long". And because of the so-called hiatuses we've seen in this industry in the past, everyone assumes it really means things like the group can't get along, no longer want to be together etc etc. I know that is not what BTS wanted to impart to us - which is why we're hearing them speak out - cause they're NOT hiding anything - they are saying what they mean.

i know what you mean. but its always antis spreading rumors like that, just like they're doing now. fans are always hopeful for the future, and i think that's what keeps everyone motivated. :itzy8:

anyway, i hope antis chill because look at how much of a mess its caused. its pretty simple, but people stretched it way out of proportion. typical. :itzy16:
