Approved the thread. -
because it’s all mass bought by a few and not actually enjoyed as music by the many
-

because they have a big east asian fandom, having big sea or western fandom means better spotify/am streams.
-
-
Because they have a big fanbase lmao? Outside of their fanbase their stats are not ones that the most popular Kpop boy groups behind bts would have
-
Turns out mass buying albums is easier than getting relevant streaming aka your music is actually being listened to. These groups are still successful profit wise since they can also tour to some extent, they will just lack a legacy in the future

And Heavy Metal groups sold very well, toured very well, but only listened to by their fans and casual listeners of metal. I'm not talking about the ones that crossed over more mainstream. The problem is, once they can't make any music anymore, they have a problem making money in show business. People didn't know their names and they weren't marketable commercially. That's the problem with these boy groups compared to the 2nd gen groups. They basically have no choice but to stay together, put whatever music they can come up with, and tour until their bodies crumble.

but fandoms being so obsessed with numbers that they're mass streaming like it's their job is enjoying music?

Mid tier girl group?? Bitch please i know u only base that off the chart..

Not everyone uses Spotify or Apple music ffs. People place too much relevance on this. There are so many other ways to consume music.

people and their obsession with photocards and albums
-
Because spending your money or your parents’ money buying albums is easier than forcing actual people to listen to the music.

the only other big music service is youtube music and they still not pulling numbers there.

Not just spotify and apple but pretty much all streaming and digital charts.

what mid-tier gg has over a billion streams on Spotify because SVT and NCT 127 do?

FWIW: there are only 5 gg with over a billion streams: BP, Twice, RV, G(I)-DLE and Itzy. None of these groups are mid-tier, but G(I)-DLE and Itzy are behind SVT and 127 in total streams (which makes sense because they are newer.)

Bad spotify streams? Who other girl group besides bp have bsides almost close to 20M with no promotion at all and those songs not being performed anywhere before? when the rest of girl groups are struggling to hit 5M streams for their bsides.
Maybe we should start questioning those groups who are selling a lot but they have low bsides streams, where are the fans? or their fans only listen to the title track?

most of aespa bsides are at 10m not 20m

Well on YouTube they aren't shining either, not only on Spotify. So it's really weird. I guess their fans Don't like their own faves music and just Stan them for personalities and visuals.
Plus their music isn't appealing to casual listeners
Which group are you talking about because all the mentioned here good to great YouTube numbers
-
-
You don't get it because you didn't read my post, the songs you mentioned were promoted or they got some exposure from MVs, dance practices, performances videos to music shows. Aespa has never promoted or performed any of their bsides but all their bsides are doing great on spotify. This comeback will be the first time they promote their bsides and still illusion only got a lyrics video, no performances videos or mv at all
So i want to know where aespa spotify numbers are bad come from when their title tracks always end up surpassing 100M streams and all their bsides are doing good

Becuase fans cant see their faces/choreo while listening on spotify, the only ones who listens to nct music are their fans and its only about half of them in the first place..why else do you think they can sell 900k albums but cant get over 850k daily streams on a song? Svt isnt much better either but at least their albums isnt sitting beneath multiple younger bgs albums spotify ranking....the real kicker is the comparison btw korean streaming and international. 127 has several top 10 korea spotify placements and not a single one on global spotify top 200 let along top 100, so what gives?
Also, love how this thread is already filled with the standard excuses, "mass treaming is listening to music?" Says fandoms who have the poorest album sales to atrram ratio for an active bg right now. "Not everyone uses spotify and apple!!" Yeah and they dont use youtube or itunes either so where are they listening to their music?
-
Blame their agency for bad promo. They never get big amount of playlist reach. SM doesn't properly pushed their group in Spotify unlike other agencies. Companies pay to put their artist in big playlist so more people will hear them. An example of one of the biggest playlists is Today's Top hits which has 31m followers. SM putting their acts in unpopular playlists instead of big and popular playlist to gain more reach. Also, Hybe acts for example gets privileges from being BTS junior hence army will include their songs to a playlist with bts songs in it.

some of them have shite views too. Worse is some high sellers are still in theaters and bingo halls! Huh? Where are these fans?
-
-
Because the fans either buy albums for the extras like photo cards or bulk buy for records and such.
