  • 12 hours of release

"Yet To Come" surpassed 280,000 Unique Listeners on Melon, a new peak of 281,954 (+6,642) ULs.

    Approved the thread.
  • Who cares, they already surpassed them overall

  • Song is still 5th after 10 weeks with zero promotion for a 16 year old worn out disbanded group.

No one will ever surpass Bigbang digitally in Korea. They were going toe to toe with IU until they went on military enlistment/hiatus.

  • They can but will take time, Bigbang's peak was pre digital points era. They got a bunch of #1 hits and weeks on top which only IU can rival atm

  • bigbang holds the top spots in highest uls in first day. still life is only at 11th. so nope.

  • who cares bb only has korean digitals over them

  • this was big bangs farewell song hence why it was so high plus a hiatus of like 4 years lol.

  • not even close

maybe when they release a good song again

  • Huh? you mean digital in SK right?.... BTS is global star.... nothing to compare here

  • BTS are still around and active, so they very well might be.

  • maybe if bts take 4 years break and comeback but that probably won't happen

  • Sk gp will drop the group over a dating scandal but BB can be involved in worst scandals and they'd still not drop them that's how much they love them. Sk men are obsessed with BB. They were marketed as "artists not idol" that's how they managed to get their support. They look down on other kpop groups but love BB. But don't forget that bb only have korea while bts has the whole world. Bts is way ahead of them in digital globally. Korea isn't the whole world, its not even a top market but good for them.

  • Except that BB released at a time when the chart was shutdown, as did IU, so neither obviously could have gone to top right away.

    So that's a invalid comparison.

BTS strength is longevity and stickieness of the ULs, not peaks.. they still are relatively more fan driven than GP, compared to BB or IU.

  • ask BTS to take a 4 year hiatus! It would have even better results :smirks:

  • Their first day UL's are about a third of big bang's + it was released on a Friday which is the peak day for UL's during the week.

The song is shredding UL's FAST and is currently only 10k UL's above BB's 2 month+ song. Funny cause some army's were mocking BB's longevity

We'll see if it picks up once they start promoting but so far it's not looking too promising.

  • Imagine SK professing all this idol culture, perfection, etc. and they worship these degenerates. I hope BTS continues being a global act and forgetting about that cesspool of a country.

Their fans are men mostly. They'll stan anyone they don't care about scandals except when it's female idols.

I'm sure BTS love the fact their fans consider their home country a "cesspool"

I laughed when I saw BTS uls specially after reading armys comments here. A joke.

  • One thing i wouldn't do is disparage Bigbang's longevity. The group is dead, Top literally NOPED out the second the song released and we all know Seung is rotting in jail somewhere. There hasnt been a single ounce of promotion for the song. No worldwide McDonald's Meal tie ins, no Samsung media campaigns, no promoted performances, no radio, no mediaplay of any kind.

The fact that it topped Melon charts for a month and is still #6 is a testament to their unapproachable status as the biggest Kpop digimons ever in Korea. They literally went toe to toe with IU during their peak.

  • YTC definitely has underperformed both in Melon ULs and YT views, even by BTS own standards, we will see if it picks up later.

BB this time had one major factor, that they were coming back after a long time. So not a right candidate.

Nevertheless they were always strong on digitals and as mentioned, are the only act who have released irrespective of IU.

BTS against IU, the only instance was 2017 DNA vs. Autumn Morning, though IU took #1, DNA has better longevity. But BTS is far more popular now.

I don't think we will even see a direct BB vs. BTS, with both promoting in full fledged manner.

But BTS vs. IU might still happen, this question can be tested then.

(Though IU is also getting indifferent to commercial success, midnight releases, unprompted acoustic releases with no MV)

Wish it happens at least once, it would be glorious.

  • Also people need to stop with the narrative that still life smashed only because "they came back from a long hiatus"

Are we forgetting the back to back national hits of Lies-Last Farewell-Haru Haru-Sunset glow during 07-08, or the 4 consecutive months of releases during MADE of which they occupied spots #1 #2 and #4 on Gaon yearly.

Big bang smashes hiatus or no hiatus and have not had a flop since 2007.

the fact that McDonald's approached BTS and not that group tells. you a lot about something.

You're missing the point of what that user is saying. We know BTS is far more popular and appealing. We're just saying BIGBANG's longevity shouldn't be underestimated. For them to come back without promo and still accomplish what they did... Still staying at #6. That's still impressive. All there is to it.

  • the fact that McDonald's approached BTS and not that group tells. you a lot about something.

Tells what, that the quality of BTS in music, is comparable to McDonald's in food?

The thread is about digitals in S.Korea, not who sold the most junk food.

Mcdonalds, Samsung known brands all over the world appriached BTS instead of your faves? Why is that?!
