I don’t think they can. Their international numbers are underwhelming compared to Ive, Aespa, and Itzy and every big 4th gen rookie debuted with stronger international numbers. And domestically they haven’t even touched Itzy’s peak yet, let alone Ive and Aespa. And their sales leave a lot to be desired. They were just known as the good music group, but Ive surpassed them in their own niche by having an It-girl. Now they have to defend against LSF and possibly Adorngg, who probably will have a similar concept. If anything they will fall behind.

I hope that they will never be in talk for such thing, for the sake of their mentality. Swith, StayC girls are doing great, their songs amazing, the groups amazing, you guys don't need to chime in these worthless discussion for the sake of your mentality and the girls. Just enjoy the content the girls put out. Leave this hell hole for stans that are in it for bragging rights and numbers.
When your music is good and you are doing well, you don't need numbers to show off, the audience will know.

StayC i would put on Yellow Alert. Not panic level Red Alert status (like poor Everglow and Oh My Girl), but BEP needs to be very cognizant of their precarious situation. Girl groups can fall out of favor in a literal microsecond (see MMM, Gfriend, Momoland).
The competition is heating up like crazy, they're being sandwiched by threats from above including Ive which has already leapfrogged them, Gidle, Aespa, and Itzy, as well as threats from below by LSRFM, Loona, WJSN, Kepler and NMIXX. Not to mention 3rd gen groups still clinging to relevancy like Red Velvet, Twice, and BP.

Loona and WJSN? Get real. StayC will be top3 in Korea, no problem. Top 2 if things break their way.

Main issue for them is they're still living and dying by their songs.
Idle has the same issue to, to an extent, but the individual activities and popularity and just general public recognition of Idle members is higher (naturally, as they've been around for much longer), so they have a bit more to fall back on.
Stayc still basically are live or die by the songs, and will really need to branch out their members individuality and individual schedules to ride through the less impactful charting songs.
Oh My Girl are a good example - they ddn't have the best comeback last song, but all their members are still popping up on new shows and new things all the time. That's where StayC needs to get to.
