I acknowledge that wonyoung is the it girl right now but I remember when jung chaeyeon was super popular and now shes just whatever

No, DIA and IVE are at totally different levels. One couldn't escape nugudom and the other is running for top GG of 4th gen. Wonyoung too is way more popular than Chaeyeon ever was though she is slowly regaining her popularity.
