Tiktok magic is the literal definition of general public relevancy. If your songs go viral on Tiktok and then translate into Spotify, YT, and Billboard numbers, that means you have achieved organic success with the GP.
That is what happened with Driver's License. And Money.
yes but the point is the lead track did nothing and Money was truly just because some SEA fans linked it to SG and it took off globally (as an American, I can confirm it never really did much in the States though despite spiking into the 20s/30s on Spotify for a few days). Lisa got lucky with a b-side but Rose didn’t flop just because of that. And I don’t think we should throw Solo in the mix because it was another era altogether.

But Olivia Rodrigo's songs are hits while Lisa's TT (Lalisa) and a collab with popular latam & western artists flopped outside the fandom or their usual listeners. Not to mention, Money was also pushed by fan support plus some gp here and there. So, not really accurate arguments between Olivia and Lisa.

Different anon. Tbh, to give Lisa her credit, Money is a song that manage to cross over more than any of blackpink song internationally. Without much pushed from fandom as it was a b-side. She even peaked at 28M listeners with the song alone on Spotify, while Blackpink as a group peaked at 29M listeners with western collabs in 2020. That's crazy for her. I definitely think she can do very well outside the group and not rely too much with the fandom. She is also the most liked member in SEA countries which is like their main music market.

Let me tell you some things:
Rose's album sold 646k, in china 1,7 million.
On the ground debuted no.1 on billboard global 200 and it charted in USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan etc other countries official charts. In Korea it peaked at 4 on gaon and it had smth like 450k unique listeners in 1st 24 hrs on melon. It has 210 million streams on Spotify and 284 million views on YouTube.
Her b-side gone charted almost same countries except USA and UK, in Korea it peaked 8 on gaon. It has 150 million streams on Spotify and 160 million views on YouTube.
So how is it underperforming?
