no, it’s more about hooks. in fact, i think Fearless would do really well in English and possibly with that K-Pop style prechorus changed. it’s also more about HOW you use your vocals to create an effect vs “wow look how good at singing I am”. we have singing shows for that type of flexing but those performers don’t amount to much.

ofcourse it does but it isn't the main factor

Not at all.

GOT the Beat flopped in the US while it got the best vocal line ever
-
? Are we forgetting the many times that American and other western artists haven't sung live but lipsynced?
Don't act out that misplaced, undeserved American/Western superiority complex again, pretending all the top American artists rarely or never lipsync because it would be the biggest lie told by someone this year.

GOT the Beat were never directed towards an American audience. You're confusing it with SuperM that was directed towards the US.
As a temp project group, GOT the Beat's song did ok in South Korea (better than some top groups latest comebacks).

Nope. See Taylor Swift’s whole career.

And they all got dragged for those performances so where do we move on from here
The difference between the reception for kpop and American music lip sync is that the latter at least don’t try to make excuses for their lip synced stages

Vocals are important but it’s not everything. The fact that rap is the biggest and most popular music in the US should give you a clue.
People care more for the substance and authenticity rather than exceptional talents although this matters too. It’s just that people are more likely to stan an artiste with individualism and very eccentric, which is something the kpop training system robs from the idols
