How does that make any difference? Do you think that in 2015, the year 2nd gen faded for real, 3rd gen rookies sold and had more streams than 2nd gen groups? Absolutely not. Did that make a difference on how 2nd gen pretty much died in that year and 3rd gen groups kept rising? Absolutely not either.
I think album wise third gen did outsold 2nd gen in 2015. And some won daesangs too (Exo). So it was an obvious shift towards the new gen. Currently, album sales for both BGs and GGs are still topped by 3rd gen. Streams (domestic or international) is also dominated by BTS and I’m sure if BP released something, it will top other GGs records too. So don’t know why people are saying 3rd gen is overshadowed by 4th gen unless you want to take BTS and BP out of this picture. Which is funny.

Exo was selling better than 2nd gen group since their debut. Bts joined them in 2015 and the two were the only grous to sell more than 200k. So 3rd gen was already selling more than 2nd gen in 2015. Stop spreading the lie.
You 4th gen stans have been saying 3rd gen is dying since 2020. Nothing happened yet. You guys are only extending the year on year.

The reason RS didn't blow up is cuz it was just another magazine cover and interview. I mean, the interview was nice and all, but we were all expecting news about THE COMEBACK. We're DYING over here!

4th gen acting like they sell more than 3rd gen, lmao. For bgs no 4th gen is selling more than nct, seventeen or bts, and for ggs RV sold more than the highest seller in 4th gen. Spotify; no 4th gen bg has streams comparable to BTS and for ggs, no 4th gen has over 200m, like make it make sense, how is 3rd gen dying if they still outdoing 4th gen?

Chile, the 2nd gen isn't even fading away, let alone the 3rd gen.
Big Bang ran laps around every 4th gen bg and some 3rd gen bg in the charts and you can't pry the album sales out of BTS-Seventeen-NCT's hands.
BTS' one single sold more than other people's albums, while EXO didn't even promote their album and still sold a million. BP is still rated the top gg and they haven't even released anything in 2 years.
They're not even trying and still outdoing.

It's what happens.
And maybe a good thing too, Blink-Once fanwars and Big 4 fandoms esp Army, EXO and Once in their constant bickering, arrogance and shading other groups and fandoms are pretty tiresome and annoying.
It's time they move on and make way for newer groups and newer fans.
But BTS and Armys as sole representative of 3rd gen will most likely be around for many years to come.
