    History

Sweetune started producing in 2008. After the departure member Han Sunghee and the addition of Jiyoung and Goo Hara, Kara had an image overhaul and DSP Media enlisted the help of the production team to produce 'Rock U'. After 'Rock U,' 'Pretty Girl,' and 'Honey,' the K-pop group would have their break-out hit with 'Mister;' This tighten the relationship between DSP and Sweetune. Sweetune would then become one of Kara's main composers, producing 'Jumping,' 'Lupin,' 'Step,' 'Pandora,' and 'Damaged Lady.' During this time, Sweetune would also produce tracks for DSP label mate Rainbow with songs such as 'A.' Sweetune also produced for Starship's first boygroup, Boyfriend.

Sweetune produced many tracks for Infinite in their early years, the other group with which the production team found commercial success. They composed arguably Infinite's biggest single, 'Be Mine,' and formed Infinite's early identity of synths and electronics. Other singles Sweetune composed includes 'Nothing's Over,' 'The Chaser,' 'BTD,' 'Paradise,' and 'Man in Love.' Infinite's labelmates, Lovelyz and Golden Child, would eventually have singles by Sweetune as well; The production team produced Lovelyz' 'That Day' in 2018; And Golden Child released Sweetune's 'It's U,' and 'Lady' in the same year.

Sweetune also found some success in Nine Muses, who they produced 'Figaro,' 'Ticket,' 'News,' 'Dolls,' 'Wild,' 'Glue,' and 'Gun' for. The production team also has worked with Spica with 'Russian Roulette,' 'Lonely,' and 'Ghost.' Kim Boa, one of the main vocalists, is a former member of the production, and used to be a vocal trainer. The composers also made Stellar's 'Marionette,' their breakout song.

In 2014, former members Lee Joohyung, Hwang Hyun, and G-high left Sweetune and started their own production team name Monotree.

Despite their late 2000's and early 2010's success, and Lovelyz's 'That Day,' Sweetune then started composing tracks for groups that would become unsuccessful in the long run. Groups such as Romeo, Target, Snuper, A.DE, and TST. Since 2019, the production team have only had a few of their tracks released each year.
