II. Introduction
NCT 2018 Empathy is the first full length studio album by NCT and was released on March 14, 2018. The album contains a total of fourteen tracks, twelve of which were released as singles between 2016-2018. This album was the first release with all eighteen members from three different units participating in the album (NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream.)
The Empathy project also officially introduced members Kun, Jungwoo, and Lucas.
III. Commercial Performance
Before the album was released, it achieved 203,000 pre-orders and topped several iTunes album charts upon release. The album entered and peaked at number two on the Gaon Album chart. It was the third best selling album on the March 2018 monthly album chart and the thirteenth best selling album on the year end album chart. It became the first NCT album to receive a Platinum certificate marking the cumulative sales of over 250,000 copies. As of August 2019, the album has achieve cumulative sales of over 350,000 physical copies.
