  • I. Introduction

    Cosmic Girls (우주소녀) also known as WJSN is a 13-member K-pop girl group under Starship Entertainment and Yuehua Entertainment.


    The members are EXY, SeolA, Bona, Soobin, Luda, Dawon, Eunseo, Yeoreum, Dayoung, Yeonjung, Xuan Yi, Cheng Xiao, and Mei Qi.


    WJSN debuted on February 25th, 2016 with their first mini-album "Would You Like?" which helmed their debut title track, "MoMoMo (모모모)".

    IV. Chinese Members Solo Work

    While juggling Cosmic Girls activities, Xuan Yi and bandmate, Mei Qi, participated in the Chinese reality survival girl group show Produce 101 aired from April 21st to June 23rd on Tencent Video.


    Both Mei Qi and Xuan Qi made it into the final line-up of the girl group Rocket Girls on June 23rd, 2018. Xuan Yi placed 2nd overall with 181 million votes and Mei Qi ranked first with over 185 million votes, debuting as the "Center" for Rocket Girls.



    After completing Rocket Girls Mei Qi and Xuan Yi made their successful solo debuts and went on to pursue an acting career whereas Cheng Xiao has appeared on numerous variety shows and leading voice actress in the movie “Future Girlfriend Lab" released in November. Extended Plays

    VII. WJSN Sub-units

    On September 23rd, 2020, Starship announced the formation of the new sub-unit WJSN Chocome, featuring members Luda, Dayoung, Soobin, and Yeoreum. They released their debut single album Hmph!, and its title track with the same name on October 7, 2020.


    And on April 26, 2021, Starship announced the formation of the group's second sub-unit WJSN The Black, featuring members Seola, Exy, Bona, and Eunseo. They released their debut single album My Attitude, and its title track 'Easy' on May 12, 2021.

    • On June 2nd, 2022, WJSN was crowned the final winner of “Queendom 2”.
    • Yeonjung is friends with Red Velvet's Yeri and TWICE's Sana.
    • Yeonjung was a member of IOI.
    • Yeonjung is an ex-SM trainee.
    • Dayoung competed in Kpop Star Season 1.
    • On MBC's 'Radio Star' Dayoung revealed her family's unfortunate circumstances from her parents' divorce to their crushing debt.

    My parents divorced in 2006. My father had a lot of debt, but it was all under my mom's name, and my dad said he'd go to Seoul, so they divorced. Back then, the debt was about 1.2 billion or 1.3 billion (~ 1 million or 1.1 million USD). "Since I was four, my parents had an eel store. After my father left, [my mom] had to do it alone. Every night, my mom cried when she looked at the bank book. And in 2007 Jeju island was hit by a typhoon. Our house got half immersed in the water and our sewer facility got clogged by leaves. My mother didn't know what to do, and I thought that I should at least scoop out the water alone, so I scooped out the water while swimming. I scooped the water all day until it came to my ankles. I even called 119 (Korean equivalent to 911) and received goods.
