A while ago, i was raging mad at JYP for not giving them solo or subunit or other opportunities. I thought he was holding them back for selfish reasons.

But now i wonder if the members truly WANT to do these things right now? It's unclear to me. There is a possibility that they are all content with their current lifestyle and career. They're not being driven like pack mules anymore, they have long breaks between comebacks. They're still popular, selling 500k per album. And it's also possible that they were all burned out and exhausted in 2019-2020 after what JYP did to them. Maybe they're ok with this long period of relative rest, no concerts, no tours, no doing tours while preparing for a comeback at the same time like that asshole made them do in 2018.

Maybe they're not mentally ready to take on the pressures of a solo debut or a bigtime MC or variety show gig or a movie role.

So i'm no longer sure whether their lack of solo activities will be a factor in whether they renew or not. I've always thought that Jeong and Chae were the two most likely to leave JYP but not because of solo activities (Jeong because she was exhausted with idol life even before her injury, and Chae because of her resentment towards JYP's controlling nature and her desire to express herself fully).

But the fact is that, the members will to go solo/acting, Chae "resentment", Jeongyeon's feelings.. are imagined by fans (and perhaps even more by non-fans). The girls never stated such things, so the speculations are made over speculations

Same, Mina's confidence went up like?? I don't think she can get rid of her condition that easily, it will stay but she seems to handle it pretty well

Can't predict for Jeongyeon... her injury was the factor leading to her anxiety and as much as she wants to stay it will depend on that...

Lastly, I can't see Tzuyu go back to Taiwan and have a career there, neither going solo in Korea for now. And I think she enjoys being in Twice a lot

it's not a good argument, JYP spending money on Itzy does not prevent them from spending on Twice. They're not broke

According to the hairstyles the recording is pretty recent.

Honestly, apart from a gift for fans, I really can't tell the purpose either. I'm not sure it ever had one when you remember JYPE didn't intend to let them release the song (according to the members) but probably got surprised with the popularity of CFM... yeah idk
