Can't hold it against you. If you don't like the music, you don't like it. Obviously there's only 3 songs, so I do think you should continue to give them a chance, but if you don't like it, it is what it is. I follow or stan groups because I either like at least some or a majority of their music, which happens to be the case for MEOVV.
Of course I understand and even somewhat agree with superyeahs perspective, except from the lens of a BABYMONSTER stan. It surprises me that all blinks don't love them, but many don't (LIKE YOU!!!!!) and it is what it is.

INTP-T 96% introverted let's go

Well I really don't lol, but I am skilled at other things so I do understand the frustration of seeing people present their opinions as fact when they clearly have no dam clue what they are talking about. Especially in the kpop world where the criticism is far from genuine.
And I do think a few people missed that you were never arguing she's a good/strong vocalist, just not a bad one as people love to say. People care way too much about being right or wrong.

oh thank you I was waiting for a decent subtitled version of this

That's the thing tho. These same users just say that she lacks the natural talent without technical proof other than the same recycled clips.
Yea I agree it's not fair to take short clips out of coachella (or encore stages) and use those as proof. It's pretty hard since for many idols, finding a truly 100% live clip of them singing is like spotting bigfoot.
Everyone has the natural ability to sing unless you are quite literally not able to speak at all.
Right I more mean a natural inclination towards singing. In the same way that someone who is 7 foot is naturally inclined to become an NBA player, some people's voices are more naturally inclined towards singing. So much so that they can overcome lack of technical ability (idk if that's true but just assuming).
I think the "she hasn't improved in 10 years" thing might be more valid if we were talking about pure vocalists. I think it would be fair to say that if someone whose primary job is singing, but that isn't the case for idols, it's just a part of it. And idek if it's actually true, because I do not follow the group that closely.
It's kinda hard to progress and/or improve a skill when you are constantly being HATED on for it.
This I 100% agree with but rabid kpop stans are soulless and it'll never be considered a valid excuse.
Anyways I am just bored, I will let the people who actually know what they are talking about weigh in. All I'll say is the criticism seems warranted but most of it is unfair, over exaggerated, and uninformed.

Idk shit about vocals. Can you still be considered a "good vocalist" if you're technical ability outweighs you're lack of natural ability? If the answer is yes, than sure maybe she is a good vocalist, fuck if I know. Likewise with natural talent, maybe you can overcome lack of technical ability. At least this is the case for other skills, idk if it applies to singing/vocals. But it seems like the users in the thread are suggesting she has neither the technical ability or the natural talent to overcome the lack of technical ability. Therefore, she's bad.

For instance, I would never call Tru-Multistan a casual ever, but they perceived themselves that way in some aspects
I think it's more that I'd put myself in another tier between casual and hardcore. Like if we used you or some other users as the standard of hardcore, I'd put myself a tier below. I'm often surprised how much many of you know outside of your own faves.

I think casual compared to many. Though I am hardcore for BABYMONSTER, STAN THE 5th GEN LEADERS

it comes down to how you define payola, since it's definition has been warped by crazy stans. It is defined as: Payola, in the music industry, is the name given to the illegal practice of paying a commercial radio station to play a song without the station disclosing the payment.
How kpop stans define it is basically just any type of paid promotion by a label (playlisting, ads, etc).
So by the actual definition of payola, no. By the made up one, yes, but obviously companies invest money in their artists, not really rocket science. It doesn't change the fact that NewJeans is still a massively popular group and I would guess any % of their perceived success that comes from "payola" is low, but we'll never know what that % is and it doesn't matter.
Each time the word payola is used my brain rots a little more and I weep for the state of the kpop community. It's just so stupid and a cheap way to bring down successful groups. Labels pay for promotion, that's never going to change, and the bigger labels are gonna be able to pay more. People are still listening to the music and they are reaching new fans, so who gives a shit.

BABYMONSTER become the indisputable leaders of the 5th gen. Though some might argue they already are.
BP comeback, the entire kpop world rejoices for their return and they restore order to the gg hierarchy
