I mean the results ain’t that hard to make sense of. The timing is awful for nj, there was virtually no promo, the rollout is messy and confusing af (mhj got too cute with her “quirky” unconventional rollouts), the actual songs themselves not being up to nj’s standards, and mhj effectively alienating nj from casual listeners who come from every other group’s fanbase, but especially those from hybe.

The only question to have now is: was mhj really that clueless/arrogant in believing nj doesn’t need support from anyone else but their own fans, or did she deliberately sabotage this cb to make nj less lucrative in hybe’s eyes and subsequently pull them out of that company, which was her original scheme i believe?

That’s not really a sound take. There are many reasons a song can be unsuitable to be released as a single or title track besides being “boring”. There are countless perfectly nice b-sides in every artist’s discography, they’re just not title track material. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s the label and producer’s job to pick which is the right song to promote, and which should be left b-sides.

You do know it’s entirely mhj’s decision to choose which songs nj release right? Mhj’s basically shunned hybe and all their involvement with ador. It’s been that way since their debut and a big reason why there are so many mhj stans - they’re afraid that without mhj’s “genius” nj will go to shit artistically with hybe behind the helm. You can’t claim all the glory when nj succeeds as entirely thanks to you, but at the same time throw the ball of responsibility to someone else and make up excuses like “hybe sabotage” with the song selection when they don’t yield the desired results.

This is why when someone claims nj’s choreo is easy, you know for a fact they don’t know wtf they’re talking about lol. Easy listening, chill music doesn’t equal easy, simple choreo.

Not a bad song per se, but my prediction is this song won’t out-viral supernova. It’ll probably do well, but won’t be the bigger bit between the two. It just doesn’t have enough of that catchiness and energy or what people call “crack” lol, which doesn’t help when it goes up against a tune as viral-friendly as supernova.
