If BTS members are puppets and have no rights/control wtv, then that's only YOUR assumption. Cause if it's true, then they would've released another song like Dynamite or Butter this year, a full 'proper' album and then go on tour before enlisting. The amount of revenue & profit they can generate in tour alone is MASSIVE.

BTS can literally sell 3M tickets this year alone if they WANT to tour and generate atleast 360,000,000 USD and that's not even including online concert tickets and merch which can rack up to 700,000,000 USD and MORE. HYBE literally has to sell ultra expensive album and pump up more merch per usual to atleast get the revenue that they could get in touring.

Now, I'm not saying that BTS is in full control of their career. They are still an employee under a company, but they have the LEVERAGE and POWER to negotiate or demand better terms for their career. Meaning, they clearly have a say.

BTS contract runs out until 2024 and by then HYBE needs to sign BTS. And for them to pursue the members, they have to agree to some terms that BTS wanted like a 'break' from group activities and no full-scale touring this year.

IDK what's goes on in their government and whatnot, but I believe that the guys also want to perform in front of fans even just for once. We can all assume about the government-hybe-bts affiliation, but we don't know what's going on behind the scenes AT ALL. After what happened this year and how vocal BTS has been in that festa video, I believe BTS members are grown adult and can handle their own business.

I think it's because BTS is the most popular group and an anomaly in Kpop overall. Even in my country, Kpop is unknown yet I still see BTS being used as a reference in TV or the media here talking about them. Even in radio, I haven't heard ANY songs from Kpop artists except BTS.

I see a lot of comments here (not you) are making it seems like BTS getting the treatment of boyband & kpop stigma makes them just a 'only for fandom' 'not for the gp' but BTS has a GLOBAL hit everywhere and is the MOST listened. Like I said, BTS is an anomaly. Also, even if they get these stigma, boybands are still a phenomenon in general. As we can see from the success of boybands compare to their GG counterparts.

Also, more hate=more success. BTS is leading the Kpop wave and is easily the most popular asian group outside the Kpop bubble, so people will always link Kpop into them stereotypes or not. And they kinda did everything in terms of global achievements, so more people will talk about them (hate or appreciation).

Tbh, I have no issue with other groups winning it cause I generally don't care about award shows (maybe except Grammy due to it being prestigious) and even artists on top of their field still pride themselves with it.

Huh. Compact version costs 18 USD - 23 USD which is like the normal pricing for a kpop album. And those 3 cds only contains 3 new song and 1 unreleased song, so all the recording costs is not high. Anyways, it's a 'compilation' or 'best of hits' album so it's expected that the pricing will be higher than normal.

Definitely 7M - 10M even with an expensive version and expensive digipacks. But I actually prefer BTS to not release digipacks. Something like MOTS:7 roll-out is enough.

I mean if this collector's box sell at 60 USD or 70 USD with 1M sales- the revenue is easily 60M-70M USD. For most groups they need to sell 3.5M - 4M albums to get the same revenue 👀 HYBE knows the fandom has a high purchasing power and they know how to exactly milk it. Also, they need to make their quarterly earnings look more convincing to their shareholders. One thing I'm sure about this is BTS will be getting the most % in album sales and not HYBE. Which is why they don't even need to tour this year to get a huge earnings.

Also, not to be a Debbie Downer- I feel like we'll never experience the Mots7 era again when it comes to album pricing and all that. HYBE realizes that armys will buy even a 100 dollars album and make it the best selling album at that. The profit margin & revenue is just too good atp 🙂

For the pricing, I feel like it's gonna be the same as the standard version which is 51 USD in Global then 70 USD in US/EU countries. Or it's 60 USD in Global then 84 USD in US/EU countries. Hopefully, it's lower than the prices I've mentioned 🤡
