It is common knowledge that BTS is HYBE. They made HYBE to what it is today and can be considered as the founders of the company. They benefit from it as well.
You think they don't know what Bang PD is doing? He ran through the whole strategy with the whole group to get them on board. Making kpop go global is one of the BTS members dream as well. They just cbb running the business side of things and prefer to leave it to Band PD and others.
All BTS members support their juniors and will go out of the way to help them get deals if its required..
This isn't some surprising reveal lol.
Also if none of the BTS members are bringing it up or complaining, why are you complaining? You think they don't voice their concerns or are too scared to? They will literally have people bowing to them as they enter the building.
If they don't like anyone, staff or whoever. One word and that person will be gone. If one staff member used their clout without their permission and they are unhappy about it. They will be gone as well.

According to the 13th Circle Chart Music Awards held on January 10, 2024, NewJeans took home the most accolades during the ceremony, including Artist of the Year (Digital), Artist of the Year (Global Streaming), Artist of the Year (Unique Listeners), and Music Steady Seller of the Year 1. (G)I-DLE and IVE also won three awards each at the same ceremony 1.
However, it is difficult to predict who will rule the chart if all three groups come back at the same time. It depends on various factors such as the timing of the comeback, the quality of the music, and the marketing strategy of the groups.
It is worth noting that the music industry is highly competitive, and there are many other talented groups that could also top the charts. Therefore, it is difficult to predict who will rule the chart without considering all the factors involved.
If you are interested in learning more about the music industry, I can recommend some resources that might be helpful. Just let me know!

I thought everyone agreed kpop and esp idols feel a lot less relevant in Korea than it used to be why did I think this was a popular opinion lol.
I disagree, idols are more popular than ever these days and garner much better gp attention compared to say 10 yrs ago.
The worldwide popularity have given idols a much better rep and no longer nugu status in the public's eyes.
-
Also I must add, kpop albums these days have a different meaning to what an album will be from back in the 2000/2010s.
These days it is more of a collection of photo cards, stickers, posters rather than a bunch of songs to be listened to.
Fans buy it because it looks cute or like the design. It's like buying pokemon cards or a figurine. The music doesn't matter. They may have bought multiple versions of the album but wouldn't even have streamed the songs on youtube or spotify.
-
It did. Expect the numbers to drop in 2024.
I think K-pop exploded internationally during covid more than ever. Noone listens to cds anymore so the albums purchased are more like merchandise and collectibles. Companies now release more versions than ever before and fans eat up all of them.
Most of the people buying are teens using their parents money or young adults that are still living at home and have minimal expenditure, high disposable income.

What I know SME is a public traded company and Kakao own less than 50% of it so it's not like it's Kakao own company, even if they are by far the biggest share holder.
That's all they need to own the company.

Seriously you think after Itzy's career tanks they will come at you and say thank you for all those "Idc about charts, love the song, that's what matter"? You think they'll watch their song debut outside top100 and then see your comments and it'll suddenly make up for their absolute pathetic failure?
So much wrong in that post.
I don't like their music. But if others enjoyed it and post on social media, at least the girls will know some people enjoyed it and they will be happy. Even if they're unpopular, they'll should grateful to the fans that listened to their music and enjoyed it. If they are still not grateful then they didn't deserve to be popular in the first place.

If I was SM I'll want Hybe to buy. They'll treat the groups the best and give the most funding. But I don't see how it'll benefit Hybe in anyway, just give them bad pr.
Imagine some stingy owner buys it and cuts funding to all the groups to make back their funds. Karma to all those SM twitter fanbois. Haha
Though it'll be interesting to see what'll happen if a Chinese entertainment company make the purchase. We might see alot more Chinese idol collabs and debuts of more Chinese members in groups. All the members will also have to tow the CCP rhetoric in social media. In a roundabout way we might even see Jessica and the ex-chinese exo members back in sm.

Is this fixed pricing for all seats?
Isn't the cheapest of the cheapest concert tickets usually at a similar price (maybe 10-20% more) anyway?
-
I don't know, but I think that is the bare minimum for an MC. I agree its hard work.
Imagine if she didn't fix those mistakes. It'll be so embarrassing for her and there will be plenty of people online attacking her about those mistakes lol. You just sort of have to do it if you're in her position, there is no choice.
Like the other options are, don't change anything and get embarrassed and shamed online.
Or telling the people that did the translation, that they did it wrong and asking them to change it. This risk her getting a bad rep in the industry about being hard to deal with and having a bad attitude. Basically her career is over. Also not guaranteed the translations will be fixed.

I think their fandom genuinely loves those type of music. When you see those hardcore fans singing and dancing to their songs, you just can't help but think that.
I guess that is just as sad and depressing? lol
