I appreciate comments like these, because Chris Martin is someone who would understand how hard it is and how much sacrifice it takes to make it in this industry. That's why the opinion of those who have or are doing it will hold infinitely more value then what some critic, journalist or some kpop fan thinks.

BTS have proven themselves not only as legitimate artists but they also bring a fandom no one else can. So it makes perfect sense for any artist to want to collab with them.

Had to force myself to stay up, but it was worth it. Uplifting, well balanced collab, great work by both groups.

The original question was what western collab would check BTS. WTF does that have to do with the bs you wrote?

We will have to wait and see, if the Western stint is a lasting one or is it like the super-foods sold in the West, every couple of years there would be a new 'food' with massive marketing push and chatter - Kale, Quinoa, Turmeric milk, Jackfruit etc.

And BTS do see to be aware of it, in the Billboard interview when RM states they don't expect to be mainstream in the West, but want to have one major stadium tour. That is a very grounded perspective.

As to Whyknock thinking that Kpop is some medieval strife of the princes, where there can only be 'ONE' and all others decimated, the intention is not to take down BTS, but rather IU, according to Whyknock she is a burden on Kpop and should retire or be made to retire.

You attributing BTS' success in the west to a label push is like the other guy who thinks an IU/Cardi B collab would "check" BTS. Their western stint of success as you put it, has been going on since 2017, I don't see it slowing down.

I was saying all along when I found out Coldplay was playing Central Park that they should get together. Though I think it would have been epic if they'd join Coldplay on stage at their concert rendition of My Universe. Kinda like when Halsey joined BTS on stage in France.

Yup, no one knows BTS in the US. I say this as I watch a Samsung commercial that features BTS on a national American network. While BTS is somewhere in NY making moves, as a precursor to the release of their collab with a legendary artist like Coldplay.

Happy to see them use their huge popularity to bring awareness to issues and just for providing positive vibes.
