Ok because I’m trying see if it’ll be on the top 10 IFPI list for 2021 as well, and it seems if VERY likely!
It’s gained a little under 500 million streams on Spotify this year as well and a little around 439 million on YouTube. This doesn’t take into account streams from local streaming services.
And we still have 5 months left. I predict Butter and Dynamite will be in the top 10!
I wonder if Butter has a shot at #1? It is probably leading everything in global downloads, and it's pretty close to driver's license in total streams across youtube (all videos) + spotify (all audios)

I cant find it.. I’m trying to see something!
Dynamite had 570.5M streams on spotify and 741M views on youtube by the end of 2020
edit: better numbers above

Yep, when BTS debuted people just expected them to be another nugu idol group, and then they became the biggest act on the planet. It must have made a lot of people very mad lmao. Also, being successful as a woman will already get you a lot of hate, so I'm sure Blackpink and Twice have had to deal with that.

can i speak what i think without suffering mafia army attacks?
I mean questioning whether you will "suffer mafia army attacks" makes your stance pretty obvious

Seriously, compare the first and last albums by the Beatles and they sound completely different. Does that mean the Beatles were fake too?
-
clearly not, the song isn't even about their haters specifically

Hoping for an album announcement in the next few weeks

Maybe OP is talking about sexism and chauvinism in Korean culture in general, not a specific BG vs GG comparison. This general societal bias leads to male artists being valued more.
For example, IU is clearly the most successful and most popular act in Korean music today, but no one calls her "Nation's Pride" like they do for BTS. She never gets mentioned by the President or gets picked to go to the UN or whatever.
She is the most popular act in Korea when it comes to digitals, but counting physical sales gives BTS a lead since they are much closer to her digitals than she is to their physicals. Also, the other things are reserved for BTS because they are the most successful act to ever come out of Korea globally. If IU or Blackpink or any other female act had the same global success as BTS, I'm sure the president would give them the same treatment.

This is really interesting. I am surprised that some of these songs didn't chart though, I mean, they were big hits! Is Japan a really hard place for foreigners to chart?
Yep, Japan has a very localized chart. A foreign act like BTS consistently dominating over there is almost unheard of.
