Is any company, especially Big 3 doing as well as BTS? No they are not. It is not just Big Hit that won’t be able to replicate BTS. HYBE will still be snatching that industry money though, especially with the UMG partnership and looks like they will be dominating in the fan platforms.

HYBE will the umbrella company under which HYBE Labels will be under. They are changing Big Hit Labels to HYBE Labels. Big Hit music, Source music, Pledis Entertainment, Belift lab, Koz entertainment, and the HYBE Japan labels are under HYBE Labels.

It’s funny that BTS can have a huge impact on South Korea yet KPOP Is too big for BTS to have the same impact. BTS paved the way for KOREAN CULTURE, yet kpop fans deny that they aren’t carrying Kpop. I’d rather listen to the originators of Kpop, and that is South Korea.

If BTS disbands at the height of their popularity, then Kpop can say goodbye to Western validation. No more media attention, no more Western collabs with A list artists, no more WORLD tours. Same thing when BTS fades from the spotlight. Difference is that this will be a smoother transition. The point will come and Kpop will go back to being niche. Sad thing is the continued attacks and dismissal of BTS by most kpop fandoms guarantees that all the BTS only fans will be eager to say bye to Kpop in general instead of being open to it.

No they won't, Big Hit's entire strategy since the moment they started debuting other groups is trying to find opportunity to create associations with BTS, and I can tell you as someone who only follows BTS it is incredibly tiresome because even if you don't follow any outside of BTS you still get spammed by their their content. This I believe in VCR just makes me want to see more interactions between the artists. I really want to see a year end label photoshoot video that we got with TXT, BTS, and Lee Hyun last year.

I'm not a BH stan but I really want to know what HYBE stand for.

That is true but insignificant. If the GP recognizes the name BTS, that is enough. As a non fan, I didn’t know the names of all the members of One Direction, Spice girls, Fifth Harmony, or really the Beatles either. Until you become interested enough to learn it, it’s really not expected to know all the group member names. It is harder if it is a foreign name that is hard to pronounce in English.

BTS are US pop culture. There have been questions about them on Jeopardy. A game show aimed for only the US GP who are definitely older than teenagers. It may stick in your craw, but yes BTS is all over the US media enough to penetrate into the GP now.
